Did anyone bother to check if the manhwa (korean manga) this is based off of is finished? That's probably why the ending sucked. Usually most series based off of mangas (stark exceptions being Naruto and Bleach) will start out before the manga is finished and then have to change things so that they can wrap it up. Something similar happened with Claymore as they changed events so they could finish the anime series.

Then you have series like Dance in the Vampire Bund which are left open.

This anime is pretty good I'll admit.

Still, the excessive gore is a bit of a turnoff.

While the action scenes are really done well for the most part, does it have to show so much blood?

I'm ok with some since it makes a story more realistic, but it at times looks like a bloodbath. o.o

This was easily the best anime I've watched this year. Not counting Fairy Tail and Cardfight Vangaurd, which are both still going on. But, if you think it seems interesting, I HIGHLY recommend this show.

I got sick of this show after 3 episodes...The main character's personlity pisses me off. Kuro is another airhead who falls out of the sky into the main character's arms. The main character expects Kuro, a girl, to fight for him. And the plot is just shallow...>.> A typical "I'm going to defeat you with this superpower, and nothing can beat me because I've got resolve". I was hoping that it was original...-.- But I guess not.

@RoxasSynchro There is an anime. My friend said it was better, but I think the ending was the same. Steiner gets killed during the infiltration of the "playground." Excel also loses a leg. .-. Check Wikipedia for more information. I thought the ending was harsh, even though it appeared they intended for it to be happy.

I really like this anime. It's no brilliant masterpiece but it is a cute little story that is an action sci-fi shouen. I liked the ending too. Again nothing special, but was an ending and I thought it to be pretty sweet.
