John Thaw is a genius actor. His acting is just brilliant. Kevin Whately is also a perfect co-actor. I love every series and I don't know if anyone has noticed but it's the only series that has repeat 'extras' which go un-noticed........that in itself is an indication of how engaging the acting/actor is with the audience. I only noticed this myself cos I've watched repeat episodes and never get bored of it.

Seriously, one of the best detecive shows ever on TV! The British have it all over us when it comes to quality drama and comedy. I was so sad when John Thaw passed away.

Quite simply a classic Detective series that will always be something to be proud of; but how terrible it was that John Thaw died so young. What a loss!!
