im glad this was posted so it can show the result of low head dams and the danger they pose as for kid no helment, no skills, no sprayskirt, wrong boat, crap lifejacket, no one with throwbag, and should not be in kayak unsupervised as for parents they should kick his ass

You know this kind of stuff is deceptively dangerous, you could easily die. A towback of 2 metres can hold a swimmer and if there are no exits to the stopper and no one around to help you can drown even if its over 30 minutes exhaustion kicks in you start to choke and you cough splutter and drown. Dumb ass you should not mess around with low head dams and if you do you should ha a throw bag nothing better to screw your day than to video a drowning if your going to die do it with dignity on some real whitewater

I sent a video of me, and a buddy running a dam. You must understand these things can be dangerous. And by the way get a helmet, and a sprayskirt...... Oh, and a whitewater kayak, and some knowledge would not hurt.

I never claimed to be any type of kayaking specialist, nor do I consider myself apart of any kayaking cummunity.

Also, I never condoned this to be safe nor am I reccomending you to do it. I am and was well aware of the danger present and I do not consider myself to be any better or stronger of a person because of the fact that I took a risk. I did this because I have wanted to jump that dam for years, and I posted this video for you to watch.

You mean you video taped your brother in law taking the risk, correct? I think the main reason those of us who paddle are hyped up about this is that we've lost dear friends to accidents, or have been in accidents that could have been fatal but by the grace of God we lived. We have deep respect for the river and try to tell our own kids to protect themselves. We want them to listen to us, and not to the thrill of inexperience.

You do realize that you are EXTREMELY lucky to be alive? Look up some low head dam facts. They are death machines and you are the reason there are deaths on the river. Please do the kayaking community a favor and get some Knowledge then come out and enjoy the river.
