To those who keep asking about the "trigger pad," it's the Remo TSS Black Maxx Marching snare practice pad. The only thing electronic on Jojo's kit are the bass and snare triggers: everything else is acoustic, because if it weren't, that would defeat the purpose of Nerve.
@hchern88 It's not a rudiment: a lot of it is a controlled bounce with some moeller added in for quick accents. Other than that, a lot of it is split singles between the hi-hat and the TSS.
Buy his DVD set: everything you need to know is in there. And seriously buy it: it's worth it.
@TheNickperrin Its a Remo Tunable Soundshape High Tension Snare.. you can find them on their website if you look for em... but I don't really know any place that really sells them. I really want one. They sound so cool.
@c0d3x001 Its really a shame too, I would imagine there would be a market for them if they had marketed them better. Would sure beat the hell out of the Traps "Flats" or Rims or w/e they call those flat travel kits. You could probably get some really cool Hip Hop/Rap sounds out that snare if you miked and tweaked it right.
@TheB0P yeah true... jojo mayer is probably the only reason remo sells any at all... you can go to a store and ask about it and they don't even know what you're talking about... they told me that remo practice pads don't cost more than 30 bucks :D
