The way he calwed back those two tenths after being down in the first two sectors and all of the free practices. That was clutch and that was a big f-you to those who say he can't deliver under pressure.
I'm a Hamilton fan, but most of all i am a F1 fan and i have to say Vettels performance last year, regardless of what car he was in was faultless. Massive respect.
@keytek9 Yes, and he had to be. By the end the McLaren was fast enough in qualy to challenge for pole at most tracks. Jenson missed by 0.009 in Japan, Lewis took pole in Korea, and they were very fast in Abu Dhabi. Vettel had to give it everything to get pole. The only races at the end where McLaren fell back was India and Brazil.
@MrPanda7426 Berger was Senna's teammate at McLaren for 3 seasons. He was typically about half a second slower than Senna. IMO Vettel would be better than Berger, therefore closer to Senna than Berger was. Again, not saying Vettel is better than Senna. Just saying IMO he wouldn't get his ass kicked.
@Major812 yes, but Mansell's teammate was the average driver Riccardo Patrese, who had no chance against Mansell and later against Schumacher. Whereas Webber always destroyed his teammates in qualifyings. Until Vettel appeared, of course. With a slower teammate as Patrese was, Vettel would have 19/19. And, btw. the Williams was so superior that even Patrese was able to become second in the most qualifyings.
@LordDivrot he was looking at the big screen to check if he had pole ... and look ma no blinking for the whole lap ... that's how you get the pole ...
@evofreak1304 im a kart driver and we are all train ourselves to never blink while we are driving as soon as we step in the car. 1 blink can cause you to make a mistake
@f1codemastersracer46 You trained yourself? its weird, my freind had to do the same thing so it wouldnt break his concentration but i just naturally dont blink when im concentating. weird.
@lukewill783 well not trained, what i meant is that when I stepped into a kart for the first time, I trained myself instantly to not blink. After that first session, I never blinked on the track ever again
awesome and hopefully in Brazil Vettel will re-write the history books and become the the sole king of pole positions in a single season. Lets go Seb.
@dgammar true but had Vettel taken pole in Korea he would've ended up finishing the season with 16 poles which i think would beat mansel's record in percentage of poles/ races in season. none the less it's still a great achievement and history making for Vettel ;)

Why Vettel is the best: he's as fast as Hamilton, as experienced as Alonso and as race-intelligent as Button.....just all 3 in common!!
.....but not yet Schumi ;)

@torstenp777 not as experienced as Alonso...but just as successful (2 WDSs)

When you're micro-sliding a car round a bend at 100mph+, sitting right on the very edge of the grip of your tires, you'd better not be blinking!
Even when I'm playing F1 games with a steering wheel, my eyes are WIDE open and I usually have the laziest looking eyes lol.
I've watched this vid about a million times now probably, just to truly take in how much the G-forces the cars create affect the drivers.
Going from 300kph+ down to 90 in about 2.5 seconds......madness.

@zabraoota1 no, would've needed 17 mate. Still an immense achievement given his car never had anywhere near the advantage Mansells williams had
91jb12 2 months ago
@91jb12 Mansell only missed out on two poles Canada and Hungary so he would have needed 18 to beat the percentage
