However, dont feel you have to watch in order, as i'm currently watching gundam 00, gundam wing and gundam unicorn at the same time, and considering watching gundam SEED
@dragonxanimation no seriously watch 00 to start with its an aesome anime. I went from code geass till there and whilst the story in 00 is nowhere near as good the mech combat is 1000x more awesome. You dont have to watch gundam in any order really, but 00 is an amazing series and awesome starting point

@GuiltyFoxx I actually really liked it. The ELS threw me off guard but it brought the whole show of gundam 00 into perspective. Even though I still think GW: Endless Waltz is the best movie based on an anime, I rank gundam 00 pretty highly (much higher than seed)

This movie was great. I read the story in gundam wiki first so I knew what to expect unlike many that was caught by surprise. The animations and the story was great. I guess many didn't like this because of the idea of aliens (its the first in the gundam franchise) in it and they wanted a bit more explanations.
I watched the movie it's actually pretty awesome. Unlike those characters, especially innovator in season1 keep shitting all the fucking time, this time they focus on telling the story line. Season two they spent 90% time shitting but at the end they knew they fucked up so they came up with a perfect ending. This movie is way better than TV series.

There are some things that i don't get about the movie. At the end of season 2, 3 GN drives were left after the one in Seraphim and the one in 0 Gundam was destroyed. In the movie 00 Qan(T) has 2 new GN drives and 2 old ones in Harute and Zabanya. What happened to the other one as Raphael uses GN Tau drives?

I loved the 00 series because of its close to home post-9/11 politics (religious extremism, terrorism, the abuse of power,even a fascination with renewable energy). It felt like the 1st Gundam series to really touch on current issues while sill maintaining franchise hallmarks. The Gundam 00 movie however....has aliens. Gone are the debates on sociopolitical themes in favor of evolution mumbo jumbo. It was like Stanley Kubrick hijacked the script, it felt disconnected from the rest of the series.

A lack of story devlopment is disguised by overuse of character devlopment by making 87% of the charactes emo.

This movie was AMAZING. How anyone can say it was bad is beyond me. It redefines the term fanservice and does it with style and epicness.
Granted - aliens in Gundam makes little to no sense no matter how much logic they try to put behind it but it didn't matter because it was so freakin awesome, you didn't give a damn.
The crowd at Comic Con during this movie was so awesome too. We all had a blast watching it, and even the slightly funny scenes were 20x funnier with everyone laughing.
As a gundam fan I still gotta say this; sunrise took a step up on the gundam series but 00 still lacks epicness in the story department. They just can't seem to produce a storyline that doesnt over complicates things and always end up rushing the ending.

There are some things that i don't get about the movie. At the end of season 2, 3 GN drives were left after the one in Seraphim and the one in 0 Gundam was destroyed. In the movie 00 Qan(T) has 2 new GN drives and 2 old ones in Harute and Zabanya. What happened to the other one as Raphael uses GN Tau drives?

I like to see a Gundam 00 live action movie. its long long long over due for a live action movie. The Gundam Savior was not done right. it had some nice ideas however it was lacking Full fleet war!

@cleedrafagal. The films that do borrow/change these formules are terrible. name me one that isnt total crap and i will end the comments. And secondly i have difficulty understand what is meant by this sentance . "You can't spoil a western movie so long as you don't know the formula" is this implying that if formule isnt known it is a good film, or you cant spoil the film if you dont know the formule that will spoil it.

I loved the 00 series because of its close to home post-9/11 politics (religious extremism, terrorism, the abuse of power,even a fascination with renewable energy). It felt like the 1st Gundam series to really touch on current issues while sill maintaining franchise hallmarks. The Gundam 00 movie however....has aliens. Gone are the debates on sociopolitical themes in favor of evolution mumbo jumbo. It was like Stanley Kubrick hijacked the script, it felt disconnected from the rest of the series.

@kuroi44 I see your point but...having heady philosophical evolutionary post-modern theoretical debates in Gundam (which is known for sociopolitical commentary and military sci-fi action and drama) was a little out of left field for me. I was a fan of all of the political and military conflicts between the AEU, Human Reform League, Celestial Being, The US, Katharon, Azadestan and even the A-Laws and Innovators...the aliens thing is a drastic change of direction from this.

@cleedrafagal western shows can usually keep to a plot and develop it well. unlike this japanese shit that weeaboos cream themselves too. there stories are so plain and you can see how it is going to end after the first few episodes there are a few exeptions to this rule but not many. Before you begin to nerd rage aginst me dont confuse story development with character development. A lack of story devlopment is disguised by overuse of character devlopment by making 87% of the charactes emo.

This movie was AMAZING. How anyone can say it was bad is beyond me. It redefines the term fanservice and does it with style and epicness.
Granted - aliens in Gundam makes little to no sense no matter how much logic they try to put behind it but it didn't matter because it was so freakin awesome, you didn't give a damn.
The crowd at Comic Con during this movie was so awesome too. We all had a blast watching it, and even the slightly funny scenes were 20x funnier with everyone laughing.

As a gundam fan I still gotta say this; sunrise took a step up on the gundam series but 00 still lacks epicness in the story department. They just can't seem to produce a storyline that doesnt over complicates things and always end up rushing the ending.

What is the crap? Gundam is suppose to be science fiction, military, anime with some politics yet all I see is yelling, and beam spamming from over powered mechs(robots) and J-POP music (gundam seed/DESTINY). This is why so many hardcore Gundam fans hate a lot of the AU(Alternate Universe) gundam series they never stick to the roots that made the UC(Universal Century) great. Ive been big gundam fan since i was 7 and I 80% of the of gundam fans today have never seen the original UC storys its sad

Gundam never planned to be stuck with their "7y/o" fans, they are also aiming for the present people thus the numerous AU series such as G, Wing, X, Turn A, Seed, etc... They know that their fans from before would one way or another stick to them so what they are aiming now is o get newer ones or else, Gundam will eventually die out..

gundam is just a shit as the rest of this japanese cartoon crap. japanese cartoons are all the same. The plotlines are stupid with no complexity, it always ends the same way with the main protaganist being told "The whole world is depending on you and cheering you on". and them doing some crazy power attack with the power of The (Heart,souls,ect that a bunch japs looking at the sky gives them). Then gives some crappy speech to the villian and says some crap about the power of frendship.

@toddy47b I hate these youtube arguments and i know this is gonna be very hypocritical for me to start one but i need to say this, and i would appreciate if you ignore my spelling errors. Not all animes are the same, i know that alot of them may have a basic plot but in my opinion i dont really care about the basic plot. The true greatness in watching a good anime, like Gundam 00, would not be the end but rather the adventure you go through while watching. For me the emotions were tremendous.

@articace28 it was an amazing feeling. At times it made me very sad and others angry. Some were quite amazing and happy. This series got me cheering on diffrent characters and it made me really feel hatred for others. And i would assume animes to be awfully similar at times because its simply a style of how it is. Kinda like typing in english. its the same letters and words just mixed around and switched. Like instead of using sad we can use depressed. its basically the same thing just different

@cleedrafagal Gundam Tune A is not and AU its U.C. and was made by Yoshiyuki tomino the original creator of Gundam. I own all of the Gundam series released in the North America. the only Gundam series i do not like is Seed/Destiny for its inconsistency in character focus and development, over use of recycling clip form previous episodes, show overall is way to black/white for Gundam Kira and friends are way to powerful and no matter how much logic everyone else throws at them kira is still right
