I love Annette ... but how about that guitar!? I can't tell how he changes chords so fast! I've been looking for this album but it's too expensive. Does anyone have "Little Blue Ballroom?" - it's supposed to be her stab at the Four Seasons' sound.
@SixTailights Which chords? If your talking about the strumming. He is double strumming. Move your wrist twice has fast as a regular down and up and down strum. Now do it real fast. Watch the video on my site of the Beatles doing it. Scan my favorites for the Beatles. Watch John doing it.
I never knew she covered a Beatles song, and very well I might add. what I wouldn't give to have Annette in vogue once again. If you can't rhyme swear word after swear word ad nauseum you can't have a hit these days. I'd rather the youth of America listened to this than the crap that passes for music today.
I AM fairly certain that her last album for Buena Vista was
ANNETTE SINGS GOLDEN SURFIN HITS released in 1965. This song is of course from
"Something Borrowed, Something Blue" released in 1964 to coincide with her upcoming marriage. I wish I could find a stereophonic copy, the LP copy I have is mono. ALL HER LP's need to have a CD Presentation for ANNETTE is truly on of a kind!
Just wonderful, Annette represents what life in America was like before the politically correct idiots insist we need to cater to every scumbag America hater that enters our country. In 50 years you won't reconize this country, and like General Patton once said "I'm glad I won't be around to see it".
@davisracquet Fifty years? Man, If you had transported me from 1963 to here, and then switched on the TV and the 'music' stations... I would wonder what planet they'd taken me to.. God bless General Patton and all who are like him.
I love the Beatles and their version of the song as well. But I watched Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon in all those beach party movies. They both were very talented actor's and singers.
very good cover of the fab fours tune. you got to have confidence to cover a beatle song. you could be easily hacked to peices buy the critics.this is good however, and you'll find no bigger beatle fan then me!
The 1965 album art is similar to the artwork on her series of Annette Mystery books that came out between 1960 to 1965 perhaps as a tie-in for her book fans.
This really blows me away ! My favorite sensual, sexy movie star from way back when singing one of my favorite songs by my most favorite group! WATTA COMBO!!
Does anyone else think that this album cover is just one of her best? I love the bright colors and fancy fonts used. I have 3 separate copies of this album!
I agree "Crystal Ball" was great. But it was never a hit because it was a b-side. It was the flip of "No Way to Go But Up," which I don't think ever got an LP release. Check the discography at songogs got com slash annette.
Beatles version was, of course, great but there's something a little more appealing about the lyrics coming from a female like Annette that just drives me wild! I LIKE IT!
Kind of a contradiction isn't it ? I mean it was the Beatles that knocked people like Annette, Fabian, Connie Francis and Frankie Avolon off the charts and here is Annette is singing one of their songs and contributing to their royalties.
Me too! I've got the box set Girl Next Door but there are so many og her good songs they left out, to include all the great numbers from Beach Blanket Bingo.
I would sit at this computer all day if I could and listen to these great clip of this beautiful and talented woman. Your films and music live on.... Thank you!
WOW!!! Watta combo! This is a first for me.... I've ALWAYS love Annette and I love the Beatles.... Another Fav! Thanks for posting.... this really blows my mind!!
I bought this same record (Annette's "Wedding Album") a year ago and and have listened to this song about 400 times after recording it onto my mp3 player. I couldn't help it, her voice with this great song are intoxicating! The Beatles were fantastic, but being a guy and a big Annette fan, I really do love listening to her rockin' version of this hit more.
What a treasure! I love her. Annette Funicello represents the most talented and the best of an entire generation of Americans.

Can you re-ost the song but this time don't cut it off at the end? That would really be great.

Are you not hearing the entire song? I hear the last chord when I play it.
