This does seem VERY hard at first when you try and do both parts together, but i've been trying very slowly for about 20 minutes and i'm already seeing improvement so don't give up people! I'm gonna keep trying until I perfect it. I think if you can master this, you can improve your coordination and in the long run, you'll find other songs easier too

You are so right. My fingers would not work at first, but I tried and tried and tried, and now I can play the whole intro fairly well. It's not going to be perfect on the first try, so practice is absolutely necessary for difficult playing.

Wow yeah this is real hard to do both at the same time, but I found by exadgerating the double picking helped. Just say in your mind over and over as your playing, " thumb AND Finger, thumb AND finger". This guy is a genius.

the high notes are sort of like the rythm part - concentrate on the bass notes, not the high ones

@paintballtommy just play it over and over. That's really the only thing. You're fingers and mind will get more use to it. Eventually, you'll realize that it's easier than you remembered. And don't try to be fast. Take it insanely slow. That also helps a lot.

@paintballtommy realize that you will be plucking the bass line at the same time as you strike the note for the higher part, you just have to coordinate it. Practice it ridiculously slow at first and go faster and faster until you get it. It took me several hours to be able to play it but it was totally worth it.
