  • Sorry, when I have good posture my lower back becomes tight and spastic, right around QL or just above. What can I do relieve the tension so I can resolve my rounded shoulders but also strengthen the other weak muscles in my lower back?

  • Thanks so much!!!! I've been insecure about my shoulders for a while, and did not know why, and you've helped so much

  • THANK YOU. SO MUCH. Now I can finally achieve my dream of becoming a model. This has plagued me for a year and i finally know an effective way to fix my shoulders. thanx!

  • hey, cheers for the vid, im a cyclist so i have grown into a bad posture, thanks for the help, will give it a go! :D

  • Great video. Can your scapula internally rotate to such an entent it's like you have an AC joint injury on both shoulders? I have terrible posture and my shoulders are uneven and drop at the AC joint. Though I have been told it isn't an AC tear.

  • @LOGOS422 I'm sure that is possible, but you would have been aware of that injury. Common injuries that tend to be under the radar happen at birth. Clavicles break, AC joints can tear and/or dislocate. To the extent of the damage it may or may not be detected and corrected. If you had an injury that allowed the joints to stay uneven, then you may not be able to correct the unevenness or drop. Keep joints healthy = stretch the tight muscles and balance muscle strength around the joints.

  • Thank you! Just ordered your dvd and I am hoping to have better posture soon!

  • Thank you for posting this simple exercise.

  • Thank you so much. I did them without weights (I'm at my desk) and feel much better all ready.

  • Hi, thanks for this, my shoulders are pretty rounded. I do have a problem with this exercise though (which confirms I have a big posture problem), which is that I cannot flex that far, I struggle to get past 50 degrees without cheating (not using any weight or resistance). I am still young and pretty fit but just have really bad posture, is there anything you suggest I can do to get to the point where I am able to perform this exercise?

  • Thank you so much for these informative videos. I have q quick question: would you recommend using a shoulder brace to improve posture too with the exercices? or do you think it doesn't really help?

Again, great stuff. Thank you! :)

  • Thanks very much for the video

  • i just want to say thank you very much.i ve been trying to find this for ages

  • I play tennis very competitvely, and have recently developed continuing pain in my shoulder and my arm. Of course, my orthopedic doctor thinks I ought to let him operate to clear out all the "junk." At 6'3 1/2 I've always had rounded shoulders, and I do a lot of computer work during the day. I always thought my shoulder pain had more to do with forward head and rounded shoulders. You confirmed it for me, Doctor. Thank you.

  • @TennisGuyFL Same here man, I went to a sports therapist who gave me a load of painful massagers and sort of ultrasonic treatment or something.. Anyway, its basically a variant of tennis elbow I guess, which probably will be worsened by bad posture. Getting a lighter racket should definitely help, improving posture and maybe therapeutic massaging? I don't how what an operation would do to help... The computer use will have given you rounded shoulders.. like me... :( :L

  • thanks for this video! it really helped me on my posture, and I'm more confident about myself now

  • This was great! like you said, the shoulders will stay like that, and they did for me ^^, awesome advice, what is your advice on strengthening the rotator cuffs by getting a medicine ball and having a straight arm against the ball and a wall and writing the alphabet?

  • Ive got rounded shoulders and I have a weak upper body but strong legs so is my rounded shoulders the cause of my weak upper body strength

  • How much weight would you recommend for the average male?

And is 2 times a day good if you really want to get it sorted? (my shoulders are awful)

  • thank you very much! i had a question, i don't know if you deal with this, but since we're talking about the spine, do you have any tips to grow taller, i have heard that guys stop growing at the age of 21, so i have a couple years to go and would like to grow taller, what do you recommend?

  • wow just 3 sets of these @ 15 reps with a 5 pound weight and i can already feel the pulling thx!

  • ohhh I'm sooo glad I found this. I just did this with no weights and it felt soooooo good. I will definately put this into my exercise regimen. Thank you!

  • @toutatis12 You're welcome!

  • @CaptainObvious607 I've tried it that way too. I've found this works better for my patients.

  • hello, thank you for the video !

do you think that for further exercise i should pull my shoulders back all day long ?

or that would be too much ?

  • @goribigon That would just be good posture! If you work on the exercises you probably won't even have to think about holding your shoulders back - it will just happen naturally.

  • Great information! Thanks for the video.

  • @toutatis12 You're welcome!

  • Yeah i have rounded shoulders so i know my spine is bent so i'm actually loosing height, i was wondering if this would not only fix my rounded shoulders but possibly straighten out my spine more increasing my potential height?

  • @prodigy6o4 There's more to straightening your spine than that. Probably best to at least sit down and get a consult with a chiropractor. Many will do an initial consult at no charge.

  • but i look like a cocky douche when i line myself up in a correct posture... it's weird looks like i'm full of myself and i don't want to come off as a douche to ppl... please help.. idk if these posts are posting... don't see them showing lol wtf...

  • @m3tallih0lic Hmmm... I still think looking confident looks better than not. It doesn't mean you're being cocky.

  • @postureconfidence no seriously when i do it i don't just look confident it looks like i'm trying to look macho.. i'm talkin to the point it's radiculous in the same way it's radiculous for thugs to walk all gimpy or have a "swagger" trying to look cool... could it be me just not being used to seeing myself that way? cause i seriously doubt it... perhaps my body would need to grow into the posture for me to look natural with it?

  • Will definitely incorporate into my routine ... thanks very much.

  • Thank you very much

  • Looks like I've been doing these wrong at the gym in the past....with my shoulders forward I must not have been properly strengthening my rotator cuffs. It was actually quite painful at first with how weak they were and how tight my pecs were. You can really feel a change in breathing capacity too! Well done.

  • Thanks!

  • Will this make forward head go away? cuz i think i have both rounded shoulders And forward head it feels very bad

  • It can help. Forward head posture is not just about your head. You'll need to improve your overall posture.

  • @postureconfidence just wanted to say thanks for the informative videos... but i kinda have an issue beyond just the physical akwardness of getting used to a correct posture.... you see when i line myself up in a correct posture my stance looks as if i'm trying to be "macho" like i'm some douche that thinks he's a badass... i look cocky and so it's akward mentally as well because i don't like the idea of comming off that way to others... advice please please please!!

  • ithis exercise worksout the back of the shoulder or ??

  • Both, but primarily the back of the shoulder.

  • im 21, this problem has stoped me from doin basically any with my life since i hit pubity. thank you so muc for finally showing me something to get me on track

  • I have really bad posture as well, and I was thinking about getting a back brace and exercise, what is your thoughts on a back brace?

  • The back brace is likely going to just make it worse. When you're wearing the brace you'll look fine, but the muscles are just going to keep getting weaker the longer you have it on. Pretty soon, you'll HAVE to wear the brace.

  • Do you have to have the weights?

  • No, you will be able to feel a difference without weights. You never want to add heavy weights with this anyway. Some of my patients just use cans of soda or cans of soup as weights. That's plenty.

  • @postureconfidence

oh i shouldnt use heavy weights then? i was using 6lbs weights on either hands.

    would 3lbs be okay?

how many sets and reps would you recommend and how often ? thanks so much !

  • thank you! this is a great exercise! about de-emphasising rounded shoulders. thank you so much!

  • Thanks. Very helpful

  • Very good, thanks!

  • Hello! i play a lot of guitar and my back starts to hurt and i have bad posture, when i do this exercise my neck starts to hurt a little, what i´m doing wrong?

  • The exercise shouldn't hurt. May be time to visit a chiropractor to get a professional opinion.

  • Thanks You, very much this has really improved my posture :)

  • does having rounded shoulders also limit arm elevation?(e.g., doing a lift like military press.)

  • With rounded shoulders, the back of your shoulder is weaker than the front. That may limit your movement. Or the rounded shoulders may have affected the joint itself.

  • I love you!! Thank you for doing this!!

  • Very, very helpful video.

An excersise so simple yet so not common.

  • Thank you, this is a great help, can feel a difference already!

  • that will really helpful , thank you very much.

  • Love it. Adding it to my routine. thank you.
