Un amigo me ha enviado un pps. con esta canción, en ese caso, Plácido Domingo la compartía con Elton John, y hacía siglos que no la escuchaba, y eso me sirvió para darme cuenta de que tengo que borrar muchas tonterías que tengo en el mp3, y llenarlo con la música que realmente me gustó siempre.

Es una maravilla de canción.

Estoy empezando a traducirla al español, pero como siempre, pierde mucho en otro idioma.

One of the great John Denver songs. It lacks the honesty and the simplicity of John's delivery here. When it was first recorded with Denver and Domingo, the two titans (in their fields) created an interesting, special chemistry, making for a truly wonderful rendition. Villazon is not up to the task - he produces a dragging, smooshy sound that is most unappealing. Domingo hangs on, but is unable to recapture the magic. May John rest in peace!

Estoy de acuerdo en que Placido es uno de los mas grandes tenores de todos los tiempos. Creo yo que si el mas expresivo y melodioso.

Villazon es muy bueno y no creo sea una imitacion de Placido. Simplemente una mala interpretcion de su parte en esta cancion. y la calidad del video tambien no es la mejor (sin ofender). creo que tiene que trabajar mucho tadavia si quiere algun dia llegar al nivel del maestro Placido, a mi me gusta como canta...no en este video claro esta.

Domingo siempre será el gran tenor. Considerado por los expertos de la BBC de Londres como el mas grande tenor de todos los tiempos.

En cambio Villazon es una inmitación de Domingo pero de Domingo ya anciano.. siendo una voz de barítono y no de tenor.

para los latinoamericanos sugiero escuchen Marcelo Alvarez quien si parece una voz como la de Domingo pero de joven.

Listen here on you tube the Denver/Domingo duet at the Met and you will notice the great diffrence.

Domingo's freshness,his unforced delivery his color.

Denver is perfect for this kind of song.

Here we have an old tenor that strugles to sing in tune and then...villazon which is so pathetic and awful that there are no words to describe his perfomance,just one:mediocrity.

Just because a song reached some level of popularity in the 20th it is not automatically "crap". There is some truly crapifluous rubbish masquerading as grand opera. The genre of a song is less relevant than its quality and lasting quality.

This song has great lyrics and a tune that many operatic composers would be proud of.

Singer have every right to explore the vast range of beautiful compositions without fear of offending pompous critics who want their voice used only for one genre.

Creo que Rolando es bueno, pero la verdad el maestro aun a su edad lo supera con creces en la melodiosidad, a Rolando aun le falta sentimiento que el maestro siempre lo ha tenido. Viva Domingo y a mejorar Rolando. No fue un buen dueto para ambos tenores esta canción esta pensada como la hizo John.
