I modded a 2204 for a Strat player that was way too bright. Removing the treble bleed caps helped a lot. Those JBL D120F's have a good southern tone to them and make a good match to the 2204. Have you ever tryed the 20 watt greenback Celestions?
I haven't tried the Heritage G12M's. I'd like to. I'd also like to try some Scumback Pre Rola clones. I do have an 8 year old Marshall cab with the reissue 25w Greenbacks. It sounds great. You should hear it along with the JBL's. Nice sounds.
you should try putting a 250 pf cap and a 250 meg resistor across both volume controls. when you roll off the volume it doesnt get muddy. i did this to my les paul custom and i could get a whole new range of tones.
I just purchased a JMP2203 from '78(I'm going to place a vid soon) and it sounds great just like your amp does, but it's very loud. I can't turn the volume up to 3!

How do you make that kind of "wailing" effect when you're vibrating a string a bit longer than usual?
I'm just wondering that does it just simply need a quite much overdrive before playing that effect?

Yes, its just controlled feedback...much easier with a master volume!!!
