  • mine was hitting those temps, then I had to send it back the next day after delivery lol. Gigabyte 6870 OC

It wouldnt run 2D visuals on web pages, would crash my windows explorer and something called aticlk.dll i think it was, crashed also.

Awesome card, 3 hugh fans for max disipation, and it hit like 63 to 65 all the time :(

Not very efficient for such awesome looking cooler, even with 3x windforce.

  • @AKAHowitzer im gonna get that card hopefully, i hope i wont have similar problems.

  • @gabrocki I have just changed my case to an Antec Gaming case, its very large indeed, now the 6870 idles at around 32 degrees c, and never goes above 58 degrees c under heavy load. It hits around 60 degrees c when running BF3, but then goes to around 55 to 58.

Personally I think you will be good if you have room for air to move around in your case, I was using a microATX case before and didn't realise that it would cause such an issue :.

Hopefully you have better luck than me dude :)

  • @gabrocki Oh BTW, that 2d issue I was referring to was an issue with Adobe Flash player, For some reason my 6870 cannot run Hardware Acceleration on flash player, Gigabyte are looking into it, Flash player messes with 2d clocks.

Hopefully, you don't get that either, Well I doubt you will, It was a small majority or people that's getting this.

And I have to say, What an amazing card. Even BF3 gets around 80+fps on high and 50+ fps on ultra with just 4gb 1333 and an i5 750 stock :) all maps.
