awesome review for a perfect game. just finished it today for the first time and i'm still in awe. the ending was really a bit disappointing but also realistic and unexpected for me - with all that antedeluvian myths being just bs. yeah the cinematic was kinda short. Also i let the pc chose the clan for me and ended up with toreador. Not the worst clan i guess but also a rather uninteresting one. haven't played a game with such a good story since Anachronox. Which is also a gem imo.

You don't have a voice so you're immersed more, which you say you were immersed. If your character had a voice - you would be playing 'them' and not 'you'!!

nice review on such an amazing game. Just a head's up on the ending situation. Theres about 4 different endings, 2 of which are fucking terrible. The Kue-Jin ending ( where they tie you to the sarcophogus and put you in the see ) and the part of the no allegiance ending where you get blown up with the ventrue tower.
Try and get the other endings, you will love the replayability for them ^^
Awesome, I picked this game up brand new and played it about half way before loosing interest based on all the horrid glitches. I recently had my interest piqued when I saw these new patches and you saying the game finally doesnt suck is all i need to go and reinstall it and give it another run.

The game was only 75% done they were forced by activision to release the game
They were gonna add customization for your character and add more side quests and more ways to do quests
Heather can actually be saved in the new patches and mods
The engine they were using was an ancient source engine build too
Valve didn't give them the new build they were using for hl2
This game would've been amazing if they had 6 more months to work on it

Perhaps the best game - in my opinion. It has so much "crazy moments":
- the televison guy,
- the guy in the graveyard,
- the skinner,
- your pet, which captured "food" for u,
- this female "thing" which lives in N.Y.under the building site
- etc...
The game has also a great athmosphere
For me a 11 of 10 game.
Played it with patch 1.2 (and 1.6) as a female Malkavian - think Malkavien was the best decision.

"unlocking" the special jeanette thing was worth spending the points. And yes through time it has aged fine becoming a great title worth playing.

Same thing here, I finished the game only once with the 1.2 patch, and then never touched it again.
3 years later I'm playing with the 5.2 unofficial patch, still good as ever!
I just hate the werewolf fight.
