Hello from Russia!

  • Just brilliant....... greetings from amsterdam, lianne

  • Your capacity for such levels of variation is sheer genius. You connect with the human spirit at a deep level. Thank you for being soo inspiring! Wow!

  • Brilliant, perfect and so nice....thank you, greetings Lianne

  • What a masterful performance. Technically brilliant, sensitive, precise. Why aren't we hearing his music every day?

  • Could anyone tell me the list of all the pieces he plays in the 10 videos series,i am just a new learner so just some names would be very helpful:)

  • hey this song is a german one

    lyrics:

"Mein Hut der hat 3 Ecken, 3 Ecken hat mein hut und haett er nicht 3 Ecken dann waer er nicht mein Hut.."

  • That is amazing!! I love that music! That was really new inspiration for me.

  • Amazing!!! he is quite different from David Russell and John Williams; fantastic in his own way.

anyone knows more recording of him?

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!

  • AHAHAHA. Grazie

  • @Mariomappo ascolta la versione di russel. Senza ulla togliera a questa bellissima interpretazione ovviamente....

  • Pffffff he is best that much guitar players, wonderful bravo !! master of masters

  • Aniello...

    Aniello for president!

  • another adaption that is not used by professional classical players is the "accoustic/ electric" classicals. its great for volume, however you can only achieve the sound dynamics, and percussive attack by placing a mic at the body and neck. he only uses the body mic, but would prob sound better if he had a neck mic towards the head as well.

  • alot of the Really expensive hand made classical guitars, like Jim Redgate guitars (what ana vidovic plays) have a "raised fingerboard". where the neck actually sits 1/4 of an inch off of the body, making high notes more accessable. usually dont see it untill the price is over $10,000!!!!!!

  • lots of less expensive guitars have the humphrey millennium-style raised necks now

  • cutouts don't have Quite as good accoustics as top the line guitars because of the cutout

  • a genius player!!! none better!! i have given up playing!!

  • This theme is actually a Norwegian children's song called "Min hatt har tre kanter" or "My hat has three edges"

  • Alright, Venice is a Norwegian city...

  • Seriously, man... :)

I know it sounds weird, but it is in fact true. I don't think, however, that this theme was concieved by any Norwegian "composer". Someone has ripped Tarrega off. Anyway, it's just a stupid children's song. Cheers

  • no it is translated to many many languages and it is originally from italy

  • it is a folksong from naples, and tarrega wrote variations about it

  • i wonder why great players don't use cutout guitars? i thougt it would make playing high notes much easier and they play alot high notes don't they?

  • Because it wouldn't be a real classical guitar.

  • Just fucking amazing... wow... I love this piece... and I've never heard it played this well ever. Bravo Maestro.

  • thank you very much for posting and thanks to youtube one need not be rich or be a connoisseur to enjoy classical music.

  • Oxi151268, thanks for posting these gems it is surely appreciated by most folks. All ten pieces are the sum of a great [& free] personal concert.

It must have been a labour of love editing & posting, thanks again. ♫♪♫♪

  • I always disliked Tarrega's variations including Jota and the Carnaval! But ANiello Desiderio is truly incredible. In concert he is perfect! I was sitting in the first row and i was blown away by his sound and his way of using dynamics. Just great!

  • Stupendo ! 5 stelle

  • He is a great guitarrist but is wasting his talent playing junk music.

What he's playing here is nothing but a boring sequence of trivial embellishments of a simple melody. If you think that's music, then I cannot help you.

  • Music is an activity not an entity.

  • gosh mate, you don't like much, do you? I'm glad you've answered so conclusively what music is, as philosophers have been debating that for centuries. Just because it's not written in first species counterpoint doesn't make it garbage. It's a fun set of variations. Its triviality is the point, and it's effective.

  • There is an infinite amount of great music out there without elaborate ounterpoint. But a set of 'variations' merely ornamenting the theme cannot be considered great. (Give one counter-example!) Both Tarrega and Giuliani left good and lesser music, and I find it sad that a guitarist of this high caliber seems determined to pick the latter.

  • But that assumes there is no worth whatsoever in these 'lesser' pieces. I agree with you that they are not great or virtuosic compositions, but they do serve a purpose; namely, presenting accessible and pleasing music to a wider public. The glissando variation in this piece says pretty clearly to me that Tarrega didn't take this piece too seriously, so maybe we shouldn't either!

  • These pieces served a very good purpose when the (known) guitar repertoire was almost empty. Today the known repertoire is very rich and there is a good amount of accessible and pleasing pieces that are not shallow. I thought it's the duty of a concert guitarist to explore and present *those* to a wider public. But maybe you're right and I shouldn't take the whole matter too seriously.

  • It isn't enough to play great composers to make MUSIC. There is more MUSIC in this way of playing junk music than in most interpretations of Bach or Beethoven.

    Aniello is great !!!

  • Beautiful amazing music of course! where is this beautfiul scenery???????????????????? I'd love to visit... (im probably retarded for not obsverving the location)

  • naples and its gulf

  • grazie aniello, rendi i napoletani ancora più orgogliosi!!!!

  • outstanding!

  • Senza parole,davvero un grande...

  • eccezionale!

  • Wonderful guitarist. This Tarrega's variantion is very lively and enjoyable.
