These CSX trains are legendary for their flat wheels. That's the chug-chug-chug sounds you hear as the cars batter the rails, causing unnecessary headaches for CSX maintenance crews and both Amtrak and VRE passengers.
Trash trains are my favorite! I didn't know we had trains to carry the garbage here in VA, I thought it was all tractor-trailers that carry the waste to landfills.
oh god, i can see it coming now, WM container cars in HO scale. just curious where the origination an destination and the story behind why all that trash is being hauld on a train?? lost revenue ideas?
@techphy100 more eco friendly and cost effective 1 train can take what 8-10 trucks could. plus it gives WM the chance to say "we are more eco friendly becouse we ship our waste via train"
I just got interesting in Virginia Rail Express today after I saw RP39-2C V04 trailing on a Norfolk Southern train. The paint scheme is AWESOME and the roster is full of cool locomotives. This video also has some irony; Alexandria is such an upkept high-class town, yet a garbage train passes right through it, LOL! I have to fan this spot, how many CSX trains a day? Any other railroads besides CSX and VRE? Cool video!
Dude I am diggen that VRE train!!! That thing had a hard core horn & a dang nice paint scheme! 5 stars!!! Glad to see you are back uploading more new vids. Jeff almost caught up to me before he deleated his account and I think you are next in line as to who may pass me up next with number of vids.
nice to see the crew gave you a quick 2 blows on the great sounding K5LA! bet that rain smelled pretty bad! nice catch with the Virgina Railway Express just coming out of nowhere to enter the shot! now that is something very interesting to see a F40 and Gp38 leading a train nice K5LA anyways!
V05 is a RP39-2C. I caught V04 today trailing NS 10N, snow shot. If I get more snow shots I'll compile them and make a video, the VRE unit was pretty cool.

This line is a north south line. The trash train, (Q702) is going north and the VRE is going south. Nice video!

Sometimes when waiting for VRE Train #307 at L'Enfant Plaza the trash train passes by or the orange juice train. The trash train stinks
