30-06's don't kick all that bad. I shoot a 300 WSM and it don't bother me. Barrets weigh about 27 pounds, which eats recoil. They also have the buffer springs and muzzle brakes.

Oh ya we had earplugs!!! I accidently fired it once without ear protection and I swear I will never do it again. My ears rang for a day and a half and eardrums were sore for a week. I am really lucky that I didnt do serious damage with that mistake.

I don't know how you're shoulder firing that cannon. It must have a recoil suppressor or something. I remember that I almost dislocated my shoulder once when I fired my dad's .30-06. And that was only a 30 caliber.

I love the devastation from your .50 cal. Broken trees and water spouts, frightening indeed. I remember what the muzzle shockwave from the .30 feels like, I can't even imagine what the Barrett is like.
