just to tell you all that the towel trick after the penny trick screws your xbox up just leave your xbox on, with no fans on it, for 10-15 minutes til your xbox heat sinks heat up to about 115-120 degrees F then turn it off and let it cool off for about 20-30 minutes with fans on it

Yeah, people claim of having so many ways to "PERMANENTLY" fix 360's. Since I've fix a lot of 360's, they will once again break down in a few weeks or months. Pennies put stress on the motherboard because they press down too hard which can cause further damage, make a dent on the metal shell so they fit more easily. Also put thermal paste. I think that you need to replace the X clamps with screws and metal and rubber washers, and replace the paste under the heat sinks with artic silver.

Yes my friends have had the same problem the towel trick did work for 3 or 4 times but you had to do it every 4 or 5 days.Then when that didnt work anymore he tryed the penny trick that also worked for about a month but it will also stop working.These are temp fixes.The best way to fix it so it wont break again is take off the metal thing on top of the board and heatsink.Shaped like a x in steel.Then fit new washers and bolts.:)

i use mine alot, games, dvd's and music from an i-pod through USB. sometimes it's on for 6 hours (maybe 2-3 hours max gaming), never over heated in 3 years. had RROD which MS fixed.
