hey rick,i am building a studio with my bass player thats in a three car garage ,we built a room inside a room ,using 3/4 inch plywood and framing and heavy insulation, next will be the sheet rock and we have most of the electrical done we are adding air conditioning and also cieling fans ,we are also adding 2 large 2inch thick glass panels for later so for now will be able to rehearse and later use the third car garage for a control room for studio , your studio caught my eye ,looks great,,spike
Thanks mate - sounds like you are well on top of it all. I have since found alot of valuable info on acoustic treatments and will be changing my control room around. More in the next installment (Part 5).
Hi Ben... unfortunately everything to do with soundproofing or acoustics seems to be high priced - as I am finding out! Luckily you have a small area to work with. You don't have to buy all the advertised commercial soundproofing & acoustic products though. Just remember that DENSITY and NO GAPS is the key to soundproofing (think "solid materials" like hardwood or bricks). Then you can use foam/blankets etc to control the acoustics inside your room.
