  • It's more like a compliation of the Early 80s, than smooth rock. It was an unusual time since disco died and there was no real pop/dance music and for a few years (1980-1982) people preferred this smooth rock/adult contemporary sound, even country music was in the Top 40 charts.

The tide really started to change to what we classify as "The 80s sound" (synthpop) is in 1981-1982 with New Wave and it became more pop-oriented and suddenly in 1983 it was all over (i.e. MJ, Irene Cara)

  • Now that's what I call Smooth Music! RIP Koko

  • lol Juice Newton

  • Great CD set, glad to see that they've featured Foreigner's "Waiting For a Girl Like You" instead of "I Want to Know What Love Is", I always feel "Waiting" gets overlooked in favor of "I Want to Know What Love Is"

  • Smooth as sweet, sweet donkey sweat!
