Huge DSM fan, I own a 96 Talon TSI AWD, and a Dodge Daytona Shelby VNT which the chassis on that car went onto the Lasers, Talon, Eclipse. I agree 4G63 is one of the best, NEVER had problems with mine.

Crank walk dont even matter all you have to do is replace the crank bearings ever so often and youll never get it.

Incorrectly machined cranks caused the crankwalk? Hrmm that sounds like some "out of your ass" talk to me. It was due to the thrust bearings in the 2nd gen 7bolts, and putting any kind of stiff clutch behind them would make the crank walk around. People need to not run their pie holes when they don't know shit about the cars in the first place. Just because you drive one doesn't mean you know anything about it. Obviously.

It wasn't always due to the thrust bearing, but it was found that most times that was the case. Why it was first though to be a clutch problems when taken back to the dealer back in the day.

Well, it was the fact that the crank didn't sit properly due to a fuck up in the diameter by a couple thousandths of an inch, not the thrust bearing alone. That and the crank would be more prone to walking on high-speed left-hand turns.

They machined the crank incorrectly in most of the 2gs, the 1gs are lighter anyway =)

crankwalk only occured in the 7-bolt 2G DSMs that were assembled with incorrectly machined cranks in Illinois.. never happened before or after and the Evo3 7-bolt assembled in Japan never got crankwalk. 4B11T is junk!
