Obama ist -obwohl auch er Kompromisse eingehen musste und muss- einer der liberalsten Präsidenten seit Carter. Der Libyenkonflikt wär längst beendet, wenn die USA es wollten. Sie halten sich aber absichtlich sehr zurück. Zusehr für viele Libyer.

Had Bush let the banking system collapse, your own European Union and your currency would have fallen and your entire economy in shambles. Don't think for one second that Europe can survive without the US.
Just look now and see the damage done to world markets because of the US downgrade.

@TheAsselmeier And Germany may have a higher "standard of living", but that's an average aggregate score based on faulty comparison mechanisms. You cannot directly compare a nation of 81 million people in a country smaller than Texas, to the US which has a population of 300+ million.
Hate capitalism? Then ask your own companies like Siemens, BMW, Daimler-AG, why they care more about the American market than Germany? Maybe you forgot, but it's the needs of the many over the needs of the few!

Wait till the workers demand higher wages and it becomes cheaper for America, Germany to have goods built in Bangladesh or Mexico etc. They tried to be leaders in the high-speed rail industry, and they just ended it after a huge crash.
Even their military is surrounded by Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Russia, Phillipines, Taiwan, India.

@Canadarm123 A lot of the protests are tolerated by the government as it forces western companies to shift labour-intensive jobs to jet to be developed parts of the country. A strong central power seems to be exactly what fits best for a capitalist system. China got actively linked with its neighbouring nations often in quite a symbiotic scale. By the way: Low wages are not the only important factor as Africas labour market (that China tries to develop at the moment) shows.

The only thing driving Chinese growth is it's currency imbalance and mass-export of goods. Eventually the time comes where it's no longer feasible to do business in China, and they know this, which is why they are trying to build industry.

The system reproduces itself due to a consumeristic behaviour of the voters. Religion was also allways part of the game. See Max Weber: The protestant ethik and the spirit of capitalism.
