  • wow dude! im sorta young but Ive Loved guitars since I was like 5 yrs old, and I felt sorta lost because I have 3 close cousins and 1 brother that all play guitars that I know of, and i had tried guitar before and I 100% failed at it, but one night I saw this video and it inspired me to give it another shot, i know I can play the guitar if i try hard enough, but i have a horrible singing voce, can you help me with that? or do i have to live with it?

  • you are awesome man thanks alot for taking your time to teach us all keep up the good work

  • I borrowed my friend's guitar a week or 2 ago, and I can almost tune it without a tuner. The D string is the only one that I can't do.

  • thanks for the message, glad to help! Please dont forget to check out my website freeandeasyguitar com for lots more lessons, take care

  • Would you recommend an SX Guitar?

  • i am not familiar with that brand

  • Do you advice playing with a plectrum?

  • i advise playing with a pick or plectrum and also working on finger picking as well, i use both at different times

  • i disagree, dont buy a guitar just because of a brand. if you go to guitar shop and really like how a $200 fender feels then go for it but dont not try unknown guitars as you may prefer them and dont be afraid to buy them as they imo are better made and sound better.

  • well the reason Brand names are important is how they are made, all Fenders are made the same, all Alvarez

s are made the same, by machines, then you have other guitars that are handmade or made better in general, the price reflects that

  • THANK YOU! I have been trying to teach myself guitar on and off for a couple years and finally made a commitment to myself to learn. One of the things I found that keeps me interested is if after I practice basic stuff and just fool around on it for a while, I like to learn actual songs that I like. Your video lesson on Hurt by Johnny Cash was excellent for me and has given me something to strive for and continue working on that I enjoy. And yes.....I have been to your site and it was awesome.

  • hey thats great, im glad you have been to the site, i have lots of other cool beginner stuff too

    aaron

  • This is a really, really good series of videos. I wish I would have found it 6 months ago when I started playing haha! I started out with a pink First Act (don't do that to yourself...trust me on this one, people) and now I have a Fender acoustic-electric, which thankfully has a built-in tuner thats beyond awesome. Anywho, if anybody I know begins playing guitar I'll definitely bring them to your videos!

    -annie

  • thanks annie! i apprecaite that and I am glad the lessons are helping :)

  • I have to rely on a First Act until I can get a real one, haha. Also need to find a tuner.

  • as usual, youve done another good job. i think youll help alot of beginners with this series. on another note, where did you get the shirt, i like it.

  • Personally I would add, although it is a personal preference for me, is that the guitar is flat back, not round back. my students find they like the flat backs better for controlling the instrument

  • good deal

  • Hey man, first of all you're awesome. I still wouldn't know how to do anything but stare at my guitar if I hadn't of found your videos, and second I've been looking at buying an Indiana brand guitar off of the internet and since I can't play it to see how it sounds I was wondering if you know if they make a good one. Thanks for the help.

  • thanx mate..im really greatfull, u know im a metallica fan n i couldnt learn- nothing else matters without ur video, so thanx a billion !!

ive played the pink panther theme n put it up !! could u tell me if its right ?? Thanx !!

    CYA

  • hey buddy thanks! i will check it out!

  • sorry for all the typoes and in the last comment and the double post lol

  • and another thing just from what ive thought helped me that my uncle filled me in on is fast fret. if your chords get like i dont know sticky or rough or just hard to slide on or it making a loud noise when you slide your hand. it helps sliding you fingers up and down and takes the edge off that dredded noise of sliding.....i think it can ruin a good song lol but yea if anybody reads my comment im sure gally would say the same or anything els like fast fret but you can get it at any guitar shop.

  • yeah all of that stuff is great, i use Guitar Honey, i have found the elixir strings dont make that dreaded slide noise as much because of their coating, but you can solve that problem either way, thanks for the comment

  • so you know how you said capos help you avoid barre chords, but does that mean that if you have a capo you dont need to play a barre chord? because i think ive seen people with capos on their guitar that still play a song with a barre chord in it

  • hey buddy, no it doesn't mean that, it just can eliminate some barre chords, so say you have a song that normally all 4 chords are played up the neck, well instead of having 4 barre chords, you may be able to put a capo on and then have 3 open chords and only one barre chord, that depends on which song, etc. but normally a capo helps to eliminate barre chords, if you see people playing electric guitars, they dont use capos as often as barre chords are much easier on electric guitars

  • Oh thank God!!! I can finally learn!!! Thanks, Aaron.

  • hey you are welcome :)

  • this is exactly what i was looking for! i like how you have lessons in order to take us through each step to playing the guitar. Thanks!

  • hey you are welcome, i am glad to help!

  • i'm an extreme beginner lol i've never touched a guitar.i've tried to learn a little on my own but i just don't understand how to read the music.i'm hoping these videos will help. i really appreciate it thanks.

  • hey buddy, that is what these videos are for, as always my pleasure to help and thanks for the message, glad to help! And dont forget to check out my website freeandeasyguitar com for lots more lessons, take it easy

Aaron, you rock for making these vids, thank you. :)

  • haha good luck! i am glad the lessons are helping you learn, let me know if you have any questions

  • grat idea dude , i will learn it with u ,,

  • glad to help! good luck learning

  • Awesome Aaron! funny thing is, I just got an Epiphone acoustic AJ-100 about a week and a half ago, did almost everything you mention in the vid, sat down in the acoustic room, tried a few of them out, seen how they sounded, and felt! and the cut-away AJ-100 fit the bill, then immediately asked for a capo (not a tuner because I do them online) got a dual action planet waves capo, spent about 180 on the guitar, and 30 for the capo, and love playing with it man, thanks for the vid again

  • thanks! that is awesome, i am glad the videos are helping and good luck learning to play! dont forget to check out the website, take care
