As far as firearms...Russia builds weapons that are much more rugged, America builds weapons that are much more precise. Again I'm talking about firearms not munitions or artillery or anything like that. The AK can take a beating and still function but isn't the most accurate, the M4/M16 is less likely to function flawlessly in rough terrain, however it is highly accurate and precise.

Either way the two wars aren't really comparable due to the changes in technology and the different situations both countries were in and the reasons for each war. @Diabolical05 Well I can tell you, the SEAL's have a very low death rate because in the US they do not tolerate the type of training the Spetsnaz have. For example when spetsnaz are trained on setting charges on the hull of a ship, the are given a time limit if they do not finish in time, the captain turns on the engines, and you understand the rest. The hardest part I heard about SEAL's training is they train swimming in freezing water facing hypothermia at best.

Either way the two wars aren't really comparable due to the changes in technology and the different situations both countries were in and the reasons for each war. Let's also not forget that for the past few years the U.S.A has been Iraq as well, so that makes a difference.

@Diabolical05 Well I can tell you, the SEAL's have a very low death rate because in the US they do not tolerate the type of training the Spetsnaz have. For example when spetsnaz are trained on setting charges on the hull of a ship, the are given a time limit if they do not finish in time, the captain turns on the engines, and you understand the rest. The hardest part I heard about SEAL's training is they train swimming in freezing water facing hypothermia at best.

In terms of debt, the total debt is irrelevant, only the debt per capita matters, and the US debt per capita, while high, is still lower than half of Europe. Ironically the size of the US debt isnt a problem at all. The political unwillingness to actually deal with that debt IS a problem.

Our defenses are so good no one would dare to invade. America would turn moscow into a empty parking lot with the kind of fire power we have. The japanese military is very small and I beleive are even regulated by the US since ww2.
