This is my favorite Bogie movie, next is The Maltese Falcon. Great movie and excellent emotions evoked from Agnes Moorehead. One really believes in her fear. It shows all in her face. Great acting!!!
agnes does some amazing, just amazing stuff in this scene look at how she is holding onto her her neck terrified, fidgiting with those fingers, thats real terror, stuff they dont put in a script, and that snarly voice, straight from her radio days, layers of nuance that puts to shame the one note performances you have to endure over your popcorn nowadays
Ohmygoodness! I remember seeing this on the late-late-late show one night about 20 years ago! The moment at 2:40 when Aggie realizes who Bogie is still gives me the heebie-jeebies! She knows her goose is cooked! Fantastic window scene! I'll never forget it!
the plot in this movie is as full of holes as a Mexico City burrito, but has some truly way out stuff: the doc who works on his face is something out of a Hunter Thompson nightmare though and is worth the price of the ticket and the scene included here, ditto, ole Agnes gets to strut her stuff and in some respects it still is one of the best looks at San Francisco ever

This is one of my favorite movies! I watch it over and over again the scenes with the beautiful & talented Agnes Moorehead. It's amazing how Agnes has so much range as an outstanding actress in her films. Thank you for posting this scene from an excellent film!!! I love & miss the lovely & talented Agnes Moorehead.
The film is a very good one in my opinion. Bogart and Bacall are great together of course; it has a pretty good story line and Moorehead plays and excellent role as Madge Rapf, a spiteful woman whose testimony sent the innocent Vincent Parry ( Bogart ), to prison.
