Having seen this band perform this song live more than once, and having not heard it in about 33 years is amazing. It's still cool, and Gabriel was so talented it's off the scale. Glad to have stumbled on it.
Anyone know why Rolling Stone magazine hated these guys so much? To me they weren't all that bad. Gabriel wasn't a great band but they did have a handful of halfway decent songs, including this one. Never understood why RS gave them such a scathing review in their record guide.
@Daputaka I'll quote you from the 70s edition of "Rolling Stone Record Guide":
"The only mystery about this horrible Seattle-area rock band is how in the world they were ever allowed to make TWO albums."
(laughs) I always thought it would have been funny if Terry Lauber had sent them a reply along the lines of, "Actually, Gabriel released three albums, not two. Have a nice day, buttheads."
This song tugs at my heartstrings. My brothers and i listened to a lof of 70's Songs growing up and this was one of them. I have it on my "favorites" list. I have looked for an mp3 copy of this song for purchase. No luck. If anyone knows. Please ping me with the information.

@danning1 Got it. What a remark from Rolling Stone. They seem to imply they hate all one-hit wonder artists.

This music will always be as great as it was. This was so popular in the Philippines back then.
