  • I was there on the steps to the left of the stage, I really was, and it was the most memorable night of my young life.

  • not dead yet...nor a grandparent..what happened was the CLASH...live forever..

  • look at that crowd - they're either dead or grandparents today. well, that's what happens, innit? what're you gonna do?

  • You can feel the adrenaline surging your body.

  • "the only band that matters"

  • yes i did & see & hear that , but topper went 1st & that's when the writing was on the wall, i'm not going to argue over the internet, but toppers sacking caused the ramifications . where did you see the clash ? wipeout live weren't they

  • mick jones @ 20 sex in is worth the admission fee alone !!!!!

but then which one do you look at ????

3 full on assaults with guitars !!!!!

what a band & so glad i saw them

sometimes it's good to have grown up & realise you've seen a band

that millions would love to have seen.

but never got or will get to either.

  • @goonchistaw

Mick Jones 50% of the 'CLASH'

  • @GreenmanXIV gotta disagree , you ever see this band live ? i have

& as amazing as mick was & is no way can you say he is 50% of the clash

    strummer/jones are unique

    so are simonon & headon

4 individual musicians make the clash

100%, joe took nicky out & look what happened ?

he admitted sacking topper was a bad idea

you really didn't know who to try & focus on live

as they were all doing different things very well ....

  • @goonchistaw I saw 'The Clash' three times and 'Joe Strummer And The Mescaleros' once, and I,ve actually had a few jars with Mick Jones and saw him on a daily basis. If you had seen the interview Joe did on ABC television you would have heard him say "sacking Mick Jones) was the worst thing I ever did".

  • just saw Mick and Paul w/ the Gorillaz, they still dance like they used to :)

  • I was at this gig in the summer of 1978. White Man had just been released. They were supported by the Special AKA (became the Specials) and by Suicide. The filming delayed the start by about two hours so the concert didn't actually finish till about 2am, and they closed with an encore of this same song with guest appearances from Steve Jones of the Pistols and Jimmy Pursey from Sham 69. I was 17 and I wont forget that night, even though it was 32 years ago. I was on the stairs on the left.

  • My Fav bands The Clash, The Misfits, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The adicts, The Buisness

  • One of the best songs ever written in the period. Fuckin' awesome!

  • MY FAV CLASH SONG........WHAT A FUCKIN BAND!......NONE BETTER...

  • L.B.H.

  • Whatta fuckin' amazing band they were....sigh..

  • The Clash are so amazing live

  • the only band that matters

  • I don't know why, but I get emotional when I listen to Complete Control too, especially live. What a great band. Tons of energy. It's the Punk Anthem.

  • @ShayZant Me too lol, especially during the part where he says 'This is Joe Strummer, this is a punk-rocker"

  • Really get tears in my eyes.

  • joe signed my jeans at the back of the manchester apollo, happy days, rip.

  • rude boy

  • wolves civic.. same tour.. watched tommy gun on tiswas in the mornin then snuck out on the night.. Nice!!

  • I wasn't at that gig but I saw others in '78 and beyond. You never felt as though you were the audience - we were all in it together - the band, the punks...so much more real than the shite we'd had to put up with before.

  • i do believe i would give my left testacle to be there!

  • Tripper you said the same about the ramones new years eve gig at the rainbow. ho many balls have you got :O)

  • Who has a luck to be there? Awesome....

  • Doesn't get any better!!

  • by the time pistols were gone, ramones were unknown,....but `clash energy was bigger than any rolling beatlemania......later they became the best musical expression in the world!!!

  • is this real ? look energy from clash, look how much energy is in public, this is awesome, never sow something like that fuking stormy

  • my favorite clash song (L)

  • those days were amazing..saw the clash 4 times and each was better than the last.
