Gears 2 isnt gaining popularity, it actually losing it. Gears of war in general is loosing popularity, mainly because gears 2 was such a disaster. People that hate gears 2 and that are bored with gears 1 just got play halo or cod. Gears 2 ruined the gears franchise and there will be probably alot less sales on Gears 3 than gears 1 or gears 2
