it seems that orwell was a socialist, plain and simple

he was against nationalism

and progressive intellectualism.

so he was a right wing conservative,

the problem here is that people think socialism is a left wing idea, i think it isn't

and yes, nationalism is right wing, but that doesnt mean orwell is under some obligation to believe that too.

just socialism without borders, simple

trouble is, socialists will always worship some alpha male, and get 'stalinized'.

its just the mentality...

Usually agree with Hitchens, but his argument on what Orwell would've thought about the Vietnam War seemed rather weak. He also seems a little too sure about the certainty of this without much evidence.

thank you for sharing these invaluable videos Daily Hitchens, but please could you tweek the volumes on them higher. One can always decrease the volume, but on many of your vids it's often difficult to hear what Hitch the Great is saying.
