Perhaps you know the mod for Red Orchestra, called Darkest Hour, and featuring the occidental front. It could be interesting to compare your real Enfield to the one featured in the game.
Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad will feature adjustable elevation for ironsights and scopes for shooting properly at longer ranges without having to compensate by aiming higher.
What I don't like from the first RO is that submachineguns have an unrealistically strong recoil. In real life a MP-40 is very controllable in full auto thanks its slow rate of fire and the PPSh compensates its high rate of fire with its effective muzzlebrake that vents the muzzleflash upwards and sideways.
@urbantaker Best rifle of all time? No. Best rifle of WWII? In my opinion, yes. The bolt action was amazing though so it may be one of the most revolutionary bolt action rifles of all time.
I hate games with unrealistic reloads, bugs the shit outta me... but I'm all for 4 second reloads with bolt action rifles, and at most 2 seconds between shots... Red Orchestra was to slow for me at times... well, at least in fast paced games.
@fishingtrashcan You get it on STEAM. Just install it for free! Did i mention STEAM. But you get Red Orchestra for 10£ i got it for 2£ on rabatt on the summer of 2010. But otherwise? Go ahead to my channel and check out my first video of my review of Red Orchestra setting on gore. : ) Thanks!
@WalkerSoilder There's plenty of recoil in Red Orchestra, you just can't see it because of the low framerate, and on top of this the playeris fighting it with their mouse (moving it down as the gun goes up)
@WalkerSoilder Thats because he is resting his rifle on the sandbags, you can rest your weapon on almost every surface in red orchestra to reduce weapon sway and recoil.
I whish that gunfights were a lot longer there, and that i could resupply my ammo for my garand at some points. There should really be like 10x more enemies and 10 times longer battle scenes for same area. The fact is, that most of the ammo is spent on covering your friends and suppressing the enemy :P But fights should never be this short, when in reality they can last hours!
@evanzarsazproduction You might look into getting Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad when it comes out. I mean, they aren't Call of duty graphics, but it'd definitely a step up into the current gen.
red orchestra has adjustable scopes, but only on tanks, so doesnt really count. they will have adjustable iron sights in red orchestra 2 :] and i think adjustable scopes but unsure.
One guy killing over 500 specially trained Waffen SS soldiers, being able to get shot in the head by an MG42, and dealing with the wound by finding a "medkit".
Also being able to singlehandedly take out a tiger tank..
@spideyrockz4ever they are coming out with a new red orchestra. From the videos I've seen, a lot of new cool stuff, but i think i recall hearing that they did away with the double click for bolt action rifles. The one thing I know is cool now is machinegun bipods actually limit your field of fire. Your gun actually swivels on the bipod instead of just randomly on the ground.
"WWII Online Battleground Europe" has adjustable iron sights and scopes, but without any animation.
"Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad" will have adjustable sights/scopes and with the animation. RO2 it's going to be one of the best game of WW2 (or, maybe, the BEST). Search some videos about the gameplay.
You know what would be realistic? Dying from one hit, no HUD, bullets do A LOT more damage, it doesn't take half a second to reload, and you actually die from an explosion that occurs right behind you and you smash your face on a brick road (The first Russian level in COD5).
I seriously think RO is the only game that employs the MG42 at it's true rate of fire. All the other developers were like "dude, 1600 RPM, gamers will get frustrated." Ironically those are the games that let you get shot a zillion times before you die, unlike RO.
@2Mikomi Thats what real infantry combat is, though the first BIA games were far more frantic since you can have up to 20 men under your command, againt 50 Germans.
@2Mikomi Well then you weren't playing the game right. And that's how real combat is. If our guys just popped out of cover because they were getting impatient to shoot, we'd all be speaking german right now.
I just tried this game....It was riddled with bug and the community was full of ass holes....the second i started to talk about how something was wrong with my game the players kept saying that it was my fault and that i was stupid and so on and that i needed to learn the game (even tho i did)and so on. @nashfan381 i think youre just an idiot . hollywood movies make you play as americans. brits and russians did the most job as allies. germany was superior to 1943 . but italy wasnt very sucsessful , they lost most battles they fought.
@bantheidiotsplz No it was actually us WE supplied the British with weapons to hold there own against the axis WE came up with the invasion plans for D-Day WE cut off German reinforcements to the Germans fighting in Russia WE supplied the British with M4 Sherman tank which the modified at their hour of need WE fought some of the hardest battles on the border of Germany+ the Russians were only allies in wwII the second the war was over we went back to despising them
The americans didn't do everything for gosh sake the russian's oh my lord I can't even explain it. They had few troops, and what they were told was to protect their motherland, and the heart moscow. They beat those nazi's, and protected Russia those very few are true heroes, and will always be remembered. God bless the Soviet Union.
@coliepolie123 Yeah but kind of puts you more in the action, of course then again it makes it feel like you got dirt on your camera lens.I would rather have the dirt just kick around instead of splash on the screen.
Kind of a general statement for discussions here but... I don't think that most of the heroes could have come from any 1 nation. If you think about it, each nation had some major strengths that were different from others. Also, they were called the Allies, they helped each other. Any person trying to claim that they're country were The Heroes is being selfish, however, it's not selfish to think your country's soldiers were heroes.
about the m1 garand being a waste of ammo, the use of 8 shots are supposed to hit the enemy you arent supposed to fire them off all at once the m1 garand if you havent noticed was dubbed "the greatest battle implement ever divised" by george s patton, the m1 garand would be my chosen weapon in the field if i were in ww2. and no one here has actually fired the m1 garand like i have before in real life so think before you speak of the quality of the m1 garand
Bidil6, There's nothing wrong with the Garand M1. You don't "waste" ammo with it - not more than you did with other weapons of WWII. It's a fine rifle. Yes the M16 is nice, but it's also much newer. You can't compare them.
@MrConph123123123 the first one is Brothers in Arms... and the second is Red Orchestra... one of the best WWII fps along with Call of Duty 2, Hidden And Dangerous 2 and Medal of Honor Allied Assault
Too many shots were wasted with the M1 rifle to kill the enemy thus always short on ammo. The rifle was very heavy and recent high school grads needed more training on it's use butit didn't which they didn't have the time to do so and the recoil made it impoosible for many draftees not to qualify on it's accurate use. Thus, the 22 calibre m16 was created and used cuz it was so easy to use and cut training time to qualify in half.
Enfield was a great British rifle but could of used scopes for long distant shots. I wish I had an Enfield in my historic arms collection. M1 Garard rifle was great too but when you aim to shooti someone you begin to shake like crazy cuz of nerves. .30-06 was a fantastic round but the rifle only held 8 rounds. The M14 had a clip magazine and would of looked like a M1 rifle of the M1 had a clip mag on it and no load from the top which took too long to do.
@Brokemyneck CoD5 does quite abit of stuff in this video if you paid attention while playing it. I'm not saying it's the most realistic, but most games (especially console games) aren't. If you want a full on realistic game, do some research to find one. Don't expect mainstream games to allready be at that level.
My Grandfather has a Muaser K98, he found it in a mountain hole the germanns used as optional housing under patrolling, annyways..where did you get the Lee Enfield Rifle ?:- )
why the fuck they`re making games only about WW2? What about WW1? I guess they don`t wanna make it because US didn`t participate in WW1, so they don`t have any story on their own... I got sick of WW2. More courage was presented in WW1
Probably because World War 2 was much more massive. It was fought on a bigger scale, had more advanced tactics, weapons and technology in it. You can imagine it wouldn't be very exciting for the average gamer to sit in a trench all day firing at enemies 50m away. I like WW1 also, and would like to see games made for it, but I understand why the focus is on WW2. It probably has some to do with the US's increased participation in WW2, as you said, as well.
@12OclockLow yes, but sitting in trenches was one of many strategies. You had it in WW2 too, and bunkers too. Planes, snipers and tanks were present in "Great war" too. Of course in WW2 it got more advanced. But I`m just saying, it would be nice game based on WW1
Tbh with you, I have no idea what you are replying to. I never like playing as U.S troops, especially considering their participation both wars was small. Eastern front was way more intense. I only referred to U.S. increase in participation in WW2 because it explains why there are more WW2 games than WW1 seeing as how most of them are made in the states. Of course with the exception of eastern gems like Red Orchestra and Il-2 1946. So please read next time, before replying.
I don't want to disrespect anyone who fought in the war, so it's hard to call a battle 'insignificant', but at the time D-day came, Germany was already backing into a corner. I won't comment on the numbers since you can look them up yourself and make comparisons. I don't know where you are going with Africa - that was to GBR's credit. Yes, supplies, and the Pacific battles were important, but no one makes games of shipping supplies across the ocean! We are talking about games here, don't forget.
@Kdssow but the US joining the war turned the tide of the war in Europe as the US helped the British in North Africa, took Italy and then mainly US troops stormed the beaches of Normandy thus giving the Russians the much needed second front which without the Nazis would have been able to regroup and stop the Russian advance. Also in the Pacific the US led the charge and pretty much defeated the Japanese single handedly
For the most part the U.S. tried to have an isolationist attitude, saying the war in Europe was, well, Europe's war, and the U.S. didn't need to get involved with it. Pearl Harbor got the U.S. fighting Japan, but they still didn't want to go to Europe. Then Hitler declared war on the U.S., which finally got them into fighting the Germans, but only after it had been going on for years already.
So, stating the U.S. were the heroes is a stretch, but we did aid in the war greatly overall.
@zauii89 and who were the "heroes" exactly?? The French for surrendering? The Japs for bombing pearl harbour? The germans for exterminating millions of jews?? If it wasn't for the US , as well as Russia...the world would be a very different place!
@sagorevach ww1 would not be as interesting since they just sat in trenches and sniped each other or had large mass battle that were over in less then 10 minutes with 10000 ppl dead that seems kind of boring to me, oh yea and the us did participate in the war hell they practically helped win it
lol tokissreds call of duty 5 has all features of part 2 and 3 and much more details then brothers in arms, if brothers in arms would be better then call of duty then prove it with the amount of sales
Characters throughout the game will interact with you and you can talk back. Just like in an RPG game (an RPG FPS!). You finish basic training, and you head off to war with the people you just trained with! Now it's just like any other WWII game, you fight Germans, and have objects to complete, but after combat you dont cutscene to another fight, you head back to an OP (example) and hang out with the men you fought with.
What I wanna see above all else in WWII games is a connection between you and the characters in game. Brother's in Arms does a great job of this in their cut scenes, but you play as one of the charatcers too. I want to be just some person who joined the army and make up how my guy acts. My idea is this...
Game starts out with you just starting basic training. Throughout the training you will do as the military training was back then. You also get to interact with other characters too!
Perhaps you know the mod for Red Orchestra, called Darkest Hour, and featuring the occidental front. It could be interesting to compare your real Enfield to the one featured in the game.

curtyos 1 year ago 3
about the m1 garand being a waste of ammo, the use of 8 shots are supposed to hit the enemy you arent supposed to fire them off all at once the m1 garand if you havent noticed was dubbed "the greatest battle implement ever divised" by george s patton, the m1 garand would be my chosen weapon in the field if i were in ww2. and no one here has actually fired the m1 garand like i have before in real life so think before you speak of the quality of the m1 garand
davidallenspears14 1 year ago 3
I like how you think out of the 90,889 people who have watched this video (as of this comment) nobody else has fired an M1.

@mozzaman i have and a thompson and a carbine and a kar lol nothin rare
Elephantnuts100 1 year ago
Bidil6, There's nothing wrong with the Garand M1. You don't "waste" ammo with it - not more than you did with other weapons of WWII. It's a fine rifle. Yes the M16 is nice, but it's also much newer. You can't compare them.

@MrConph123123123 the first one is Brothers in Arms... and the second is Red Orchestra... one of the best WWII fps along with Call of Duty 2, Hidden And Dangerous 2 and Medal of Honor Allied Assault
atal0071 1 year ago

Realistic my ass..
Brokemyneck 2 years ago 42
@Brokemyneck it sure as hell isn't realistic but it's a fucking game! it's supposed to be fun! it's not a simulator!
Nighthawk391 1 year ago
@Brokemyneck CoD5 does quite abit of stuff in this video if you paid attention while playing it. I'm not saying it's the most realistic, but most games (especially console games) aren't. If you want a full on realistic game, do some research to find one. Don't expect mainstream games to allready be at that level.
kemj25 1 year ago
@Brokemyneck COD5? which one is that? mw2? or World at war? cuz Modern Warfare 2 has some amazing graphics, wow does too but its not as good as mw2.

@Brokemyneck i'd love it if they made one where you play as a german

why the fuck they`re making games only about WW2? What about WW1? I guess they don`t wanna make it because US didn`t participate in WW1, so they don`t have any story on their own... I got sick of WW2. More courage was presented in WW1
sagorevach 2 years ago
The U.S. was in WW1 dude. They entered in 1917 and had volunteers in the french army even earlier.
mikemm5 2 years ago
@mikemm5 yeah, but had no famous actions or battles, and it was few of them. Anyway, god bless them all who participated
sagorevach 2 years ago 2
Probably because World War 2 was much more massive. It was fought on a bigger scale, had more advanced tactics, weapons and technology in it. You can imagine it wouldn't be very exciting for the average gamer to sit in a trench all day firing at enemies 50m away. I like WW1 also, and would like to see games made for it, but I understand why the focus is on WW2. It probably has some to do with the US's increased participation in WW2, as you said, as well.
12OclockLow 2 years ago
@12OclockLow yes, but sitting in trenches was one of many strategies. You had it in WW2 too, and bunkers too. Planes, snipers and tanks were present in "Great war" too. Of course in WW2 it got more advanced. But I`m just saying, it would be nice game based on WW1
sagorevach 2 years ago
Don't worry, I understood what you are saying.
12OclockLow 2 years ago
... My ass i mean except for North America people are stick of playing as the U.S troops 24/7 and the always portrayed "heroes" of the war.
Thank god for the new red orchestra focusing on Russain front once again and also for the first time ever allowing a german single player campaign!
zauii89 2 years ago 60
Tbh with you, I have no idea what you are replying to. I never like playing as U.S troops, especially considering their participation both wars was small. Eastern front was way more intense. I only referred to U.S. increase in participation in WW2 because it explains why there are more WW2 games than WW1 seeing as how most of them are made in the states. Of course with the exception of eastern gems like Red Orchestra and Il-2 1946. So please read next time, before replying.
12OclockLow 2 years ago
D-day was definatly "small" then
Africa was "small" then
All the supplies that the US gave its allies during the war, to you, is considered:
"SMALL"
redslownight 2 years ago
I don't want to disrespect anyone who fought in the war, so it's hard to call a battle 'insignificant', but at the time D-day came, Germany was already backing into a corner. I won't comment on the numbers since you can look them up yourself and make comparisons. I don't know where you are going with Africa - that was to GBR's credit. Yes, supplies, and the Pacific battles were important, but no one makes games of shipping supplies across the ocean! We are talking about games here, don't forget.
12OclockLow 2 years ago 2
Don't worry about disrespecting people who fought in WWII Because they are to old to be on youtube looking at video games
2ant0 2 years ago
@zauii89 I agree with you, Americans claim themzelves as the heroes of WWII.
Why what the hell, they started fighting against germany when the war was busy for 2 Years.
And by that time...the germans already were surrounded in Stalingrad.
And the brits were already counterattacking in North Africa with the Canadians.
Kdssow 1 year ago
@Kdssow but the US joining the war turned the tide of the war in Europe as the US helped the British in North Africa, took Italy and then mainly US troops stormed the beaches of Normandy thus giving the Russians the much needed second front which without the Nazis would have been able to regroup and stop the Russian advance. Also in the Pacific the US led the charge and pretty much defeated the Japanese single handedly
DarkLordGreg88 1 year ago
@DarkLordGreg88 That maybe so, but you aint the biggest heroes of WWII.
Kdssow 1 year ago
@DarkLordGreg88 I think you'll find that there were more British and Canadians on D-Day, than there were Americans.
The Americans helped in winning the war yes, but they certainly did not win it single handedly.
Gazmeister83 1 year ago
@Gazmeister83 actually there were more americans on D-Day
there was the infantry on Omaha and Utah, plus the 101st and 82nd airborne
but u are right the americans worked with the allies and did not win the war single handedly but still GOD BLESS AMERICA
nashfan381 1 year ago
@Kdssow
So, stating the U.S. were the heroes is a stretch, but we did aid in the war greatly overall.

youtabeer 1 year ago
@zauii89 and who were the "heroes" exactly?? The French for surrendering? The Japs for bombing pearl harbour? The germans for exterminating millions of jews?? If it wasn't for the US , as well as Russia...the world would be a very different place!
infeted14 1 year ago
@sagorevach ww1 would not be as interesting since they just sat in trenches and sniped each other or had large mass battle that were over in less then 10 minutes with 10000 ppl dead that seems kind of boring to me, oh yea and the us did participate in the war hell they practically helped win it

ChainGuN2 2 years ago 2
What I wanna see above all else in WWII games is a connection between you and the characters in game. Brother's in Arms does a great job of this in their cut scenes, but you play as one of the charatcers too. I want to be just some person who joined the army and make up how my guy acts. My idea is this...
Game starts out with you just starting basic training. Throughout the training you will do as the military training was back then. You also get to interact with other characters too!
ChainGuN2 2 years ago 3
I'm not sure if you have played Battleground Europe ..it's a Massivly Online ww2 realism game. There, you can adjust your sites and they do work.
