@musiciansfriend07 No, it is digital. The original was a pen and ink drawing by Jan Pienkowski. The tools I used to animate it were 3D Studio, Photoshop, and After Effects.

So it lied and didn't actually post my comment. Trying again. This was absolutely beautifully done and your poetry is just marvelous. I am thrilled that you posted a hi-res version, it made all the difference with the intricate silhouettes. I would love to be on your greeting card list! Any chance? I'm also curious what software you used to animate this and if it's all from existing Pienkowski work (The Fairy Tales perhaps?) or if any/all of it's yours. It's stunning either way! We want more!!!

Thank you very much! It's all animated in 3D Studio Max. Some of it is from Fairy Tales (the cover), but most of it is from a Cricket Magazine cover from 1975. I duplicated parts, and made some changes and additions in Photoshop, then made paper doll shapes in 3D for animation, and mapped the art to those shapes.
