@madashelldude in case you didn't know, the Marine Corps accounts for only about 5% of the entire defense budget, and this vehicle only accounts for a fraction of that alloted budget. So instead of attacking this vital piece of machinery which will end up saving the lives of Marines and Sailors, think about something else to complain about.

To everyone who's saying this is a waste of money, try finding out WHY research and development is going into this. The vehicle that it is replacing, the AAV, had poor protection that put its passengers in danger. I'm not sure, but I think a marine's life might be worth more than you saving a couple bucks a month. That's just me though.

what a complete waste of taxpayers money. US priorities are so screwed up. this is a country that has no money to educate its population, but it has money to lock up 1 in every 136 of its citizens in jails. It has no money for public healthcare like Japan or EU but its auto makers are going belly up because they can't meet their legacy obligations. Spending this amount of money on a pile of cold war era scrap metal is really an astounding degree of stupidity.

They've been fighting with the AAV-7A1 for more than 30 years now and are over due a replacement 'Gator.
