I ripped them all one at a time from a beta rom. There's still some that I have a clear enough memory of but no way to actually record, such as the kind of awesome menu track from the 4th of July theme (Boss Opera), which i'm sure was done by Howard Drossin. The CD quality one is on Youtube but you can't beat that Yamaha chip bass.
Another regular composer of Sega music, Howard Drossin, also had a song on Sega Channel as menu music. You can find the arranged version on the CD "Virtual Sonic" and it's called "Boss Opera."
Best service ever. I was the first subscriber in my area for it! Because of Sega Channel, I was on my Genesis well into the 32-bit era. Never even bought a Saturn or PlayStation. As long as I could always get my fix of Phantasy Star II, III, & IV, Shining Force I & II, Arcus Odyssey, Beyond Oasis, Combat Cars, Gunstar Heroes, Alien Storm, Theme Park and Shadowrun... it was alllll gravy, ya dig?
I was the same way. I don't think I played anything as much as I played Sega Channel back then. When my brother bought the Playstation, it was like 60% Sega Channel and 40% Playstation. Then came the Nintendo 64. That killed Sega Channel for me. I think my Mom got rid of it that same month or so because we weren't playing it as much. Still, I miss Sega Channel.
Man, Sega Channel was the greatest. I always wished I could find a genie or get a Make A Wish thing, so I could wish for a Super Nintendo Channel. Now THAT would have been awesome. Of course, Sega Channel introduced me to so many awesome games... Beyond Oasis, Shining Force 2, Ristar, Comix Zone, Gunstar Heroes, Phantasy Star II, Castlevania Bloodlines... Memories. Amazing hearing these tunes all over again! You rule for uploading this!
There was a Snes download service of sorts, called Satellaview but unfortunately even though it had a Chrono Trigger spin off, a new excitebike, live action Zelda and other interesting prospects it never left Japan. The technology just wasn't there at the time. Sega took major gambles bring this service to the states.
Sega Channel was beyond awesome, i hated when it stopped, tysm for putting the soundtrack up for dl, im so gonna keep this on my pc til hell freezes over. Sega Channel Forever dudes.
People's opinions on what music was good and what was old hat, tired, or lame can be really arbitrary, and doing those lists was a lot of work too, so Dman never really bothered continuing with it. Maybe we'll get some janitors to make some later.
i remember every one of these tracks: i wish i could post my sega channel videos as responses to this, but youtube won't let me because i posted them on my channel so long ago.
Sega channel was great. It was like renting dozens of games for a whole month at a time. Theoretically, you wouldn't need to buy any other games ever, unless you really wanted to.
This music brings back a lot of memories. Unfortunately, since megaupload was taken down a while back, your link is no longer functional.

That's odd. I've seen those videos before, they made me feel pretty good about things in general.
Ok, I cant have a video response to this, but I can still make links to those, so i'll do that.
