From 711-1492 AD moslems beheaded Christians for ridiculing Islam or Mohammed in Spain. So Sharia Law _did_ apply to non-moslems and non-moslems were punished by Sharia law by beheading.

no islam tries to be a political view, Islam can never be political because in politics you have to comprimise and islam isn't about comprimise it's about total submission so it can never be a political view point, no matter how hard 'islamists' want it to be
