@Nightwing690 right! I watched the POY Showdown before this and thought he seemed douchey haha but now he is my 4th fav player lol behind brian keibler, lsv, and brad nelson.
My name's Guillaume Matignon. You may remember me as a former Player of the Year and a big deal in the world of pro Magic. However, due to being an idiot I am banned for almost half a decade, and my reputation has been ruined beyond repair. :L
Lotus Noir should take the responsibility. It's outrageous to punish an employee. It's always the companys fault. Lotus Noir is also responsible for Matignons actions, they can punish him. But they should take the full responsibility for the spoiler.
There is nothing WoTC legally can do against an employee for Lotus Noir, they can sue Lotus Noir if an NDA was signed on receival of the godbook but never the employee. So stop with your comments - "he should be happy he didnt get sued lolol"
@ Regresseur: True, but I still think it's to harsh a punishment. There was no intent of this effect. You have to compare it too all the other stuff going on in the world. In his enthousiasm, he made a REAL bad call, he should be punished. It's just a terrible loss for the game. It's not like he did drugs or used some thing to gain an unfair advantage to win games. Outside the game should stay outside the game. Fine him, sue him, but don't ban him!
It makes me very sad to see this video. Guillaume Matignon is my absolute favorite pro player. What a waste banning him for 3 YEARS! What he did was wrong, but it wasn't intended. Look at the things some people get away with in everyday life. It was a mistake, true, but a 3 year suspention is WAY too much! Shame on WOTC!
No it wasn't, he gave spoiler to friend, who then made it possible for others to get ahold of it. He didn't "accidentally" give to it to someone... that doesn't even make sense.
"3 year suspention is WAY too much!"
He leaked an entire set which results in lost money for the company and much of time, money, effort etc. into marketing and other plan for the set - which has a purpose - goes down the drain for those who were involved.
I'm a rogue deckbuilder and have built several tier 1 decks, including work on Mythic Conscription. I like to build a lot more than playing the game. That said, I find it flattering when people netdeck my lists, it's a compliment. More than that though, while I like building most of all a lot of people just like PLAYING the game, without spending hours on their own deck. There's nothing wrong with them netdecking, playing these decks isn't easy and doing it well takes practice. Netdecking4ever!
Earlier a few people were talking about seeing this all over FNM. I'm a new player myself. I put together Boros from another deck tech and plan to take it to FNM but I'm not doing it to conquer. I'm doing it to see WHY it's a pro tour deck. To learn how to put mana together and the thousand other things it would take for me to top 8 a ptq. And when I'm ready (prolly round the next block) I will try making something of my own. I can't speak for others that copy but I'm just doing it to learn
@ferrore big ups to you dude, you don't see that alot theses days, everyone just copies decks made by pros, no innovation. I have been trying to build new decks since the beginning of scars block, i lose alot at FNM because of it, but trust me, you learn alot more from it and become more savvy and creative with your deck builds because of it.
@johnnyandthepnuemoni im loving this comvo lol. i play FNM and HATE when players copy straight from the pro lists with no changes. theres nothing wrong with net decking a bit because these decks are tested and work but you should play a deck YOU made because everyone has different play styles. props to both you guys
I think the deck is good but it needs a lot more work...I think Perilous Myr might be good...
A 5/5 with Agent of Bolas that targets planeswalkers, Creaturers, and Players. a 5/5 with Agent of Bolas with a Ping of 2 so it is like doing 7 damage.
@Ace8792 So what? That's called playing a good deck. Some people aren't all about being individuals for the sake of being individuals. Some people want to actually win and play good cards cause they're idk... good?
This deck looks so good. Not at all perfect, but it reminds me of the Pat Chapin UW deck that he made with Jace&TreasureHunt, before Wall of Omens came out.
Love Deck Techs! Cool deck. Try to do as many deck techs for decks that are original even if they don't do as well. A lot of times I'll hear about a deck in your coverage report and because it doesn't do well it kinda disappears. Some of those decks might be good enough for an FNM or spawn a new idea for me!
I rage when I read people talking trash. "Im not impressed with this deck" and "I've built an esper version with a 3/4 tezz/jace split in favour of jace, running a bit more permission . Seems more consistant."
Who do these people think they are?!?!
