  • cool

  • its gun cotton

  • Schönes Experiment und gut vorgeführt! Daumen hoch ;-)

  • i thought the first stuff deflagrating was nitrocellulose.. but i saw there was written baumwolle luckily :D

  • Hochprozentig also 100% bzw 99,99...%

  • Cooling the acids isn't entirely necessary, but it improves the quality of the finished product.

  • I used to reduce the guncotten to a wax type gel by dissolving it in a mixture of ether and alcohol and it became a form of blasting gelatin, If you mix with Magnesium or Thermite it detonates easliy with a vey hot and intensely bright explosion. Super Hot!

  • das auch lol

  • What if you did this without rinsing the cotton with water first?

  • do you use the same stuff to make c4 ?

  • so the HNO3 and H2SO4 together would be nitroglycerine?

  • No. HNO3 and H2SO4 together with glycerine, that would be Nitroglycerine. Dont try this! Much too dangerous!

  • dear god, no.

the main ingredient in C4 is RDX, something you'll probably never be able to manufacture in the required amounts or of the needed purity to do something with.

  • C4 isn't exactly RDX, you need HMX as well and PBX.

  • I said; the MAIN ingredient is RDX, not that the only ingredient was RDX.

  • Well i was just clearing things out. You will be able to make RDX if you have a high purity of White Nitric Acid, but it takes lots of time to make C4 itself.

  • I know, but I don't have those chemicals and i don't make explosives any more.

  • Oh well. Good to go with chemistry.

  • You don't NEED HMX to make RDX. You can do it with just RDX and PBX, but other plasticizers other than PBX can be used to make a C4-like substance.

  • PBX is not a plasticiser.

    It stands for polymer-bonded-explosive.

Plus, C4 is never cited as containing HMX, only RDX and plasticisers/binders. The RDX has a trace of HMX but is never quoted.

  • english, latin or polish please :)

  • Din't you the endproduct?

Thats dangerous, I ALLWAYS neutrolyse my nitrated products by puting them in to a bath of sodium cabonate solution, this will make the product mutch saver to handle.

  • cool

  • dose any one know were to find cellulose

  • cellulose is cotton, damnit.

  • LOL, damnit

  • yeah :D people are dumb these days instead of them asking asking asking they should research! other words THERE LAZY lol

  • in wood

  • Paper, sawdust, cotton, rayon. Basically any dry plant. Fiber supplements. Cellulose is everywhere.

  • I know this can be made with kno3 instead of nitric acid, but could i use hydrocloric acid and kno3 to make this?

  • Well, i've tried, but it sux due to very small yield. But good nitration anyway. Better to find some glassware and distill.

    mfg TP

  • were can you find salt peter thats liquid

  • you can just disolve it in water and then dry it out till its completely evaporated

  • its not salt peter ist hno3 not kno3,its related to kno3 but isnt kno3

  • carino
