I miss taking the subway around downtown with you. Wandering from block to block, looking at sculptures on the lawns, the architecture, eating chocolate cake, hearing mariachi music booming, going to taco trucks, dodging traffic...City Hall, the towering library..sitting on a bench in Pershing square listening to Five For Fighting and watching the sunset over the building tops. I miss you..maybe if you hadn't left so suddenly I wouldn't feel so much like a ghost, tied to this city for always.

I have lived in L.A. for 60 years after coming from the midwest. I love it as much as when I first came here. The diversity is what I love most, both in terrain and people. My midwestern friends and relatives are afraid of the diversity. Guess that is why they brave the awful weather. As I become older, what pains me the most is not being able to go all the places I used to. Yes......the #1 negative is the traffic and cost.

@1skylinedreamz DON'T MOVE TO LA! I've lived here for 20 years and it's a disaster. The middle class is fleeing Southern California in droves. Within 15 years, California will be a place of poverty and crime (more so than it already is today). Our state is completely falling apart and our schools are 3rd world quality. If you want to start a career, I highly advise you to move someplace else. You don't want to start a life/family in this disaster of a place. I'm fleeing next year.

I'm a life-long Californian and have lived in the LA and Orange counties. To know LA, ask a native. LA is a disaster. The LA county is filled with poverty and crime. It has the worse effects of ethnic diversity, with whites forming enclaves in the few nicest parts (Brentwood, Santa Monica, Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Calabasas, and Westlake all have a white pop. of >85% with at most 5% black & hispanic) while all other cities being crime/gang infested (with hispanic pop. of >85%). LA is rotten.

Yeah, I'm part of the small population, AKA the middle class. The middle class is fleeing Southern California in droves. BORN AND RAISED IN LA. Eagle Rock, Mar Vista, Venice. Ive seen it go from good, to real bad (crack/gang epidemic), to better and now its sliding again.
