  • WOWWWWWW...

    Absolutely amazing.

  • damn its amazing how he did that!! good job! i would have done the same if it was my parrot!

  • wow i can't beleive he climb the tree like that just to save hes bird, amazing

  • And that's why I stick with dogs and a handful of cats that don't like climbing.

  • I'm amazed Geronimo didn't fly away. He was probably frightened and just wanted to be with his owner again...

  • That is so lovely, how a man would do that for his own pet

  • I wonder how much taxpayer dollars went into that 5 hour rescue.....

  • That´s real Love :-)

  • I still haven't decided if this guy is a hero or just stupid.

  • omg now i call dat LOVE lol dats was so nice of the owner 2 not just the cockatoo in the three... :) yup 5 stars

  • This the man ever think how to climb down before climbing up???

  • FREEDOM 4 THAT BIRD

  • 5 hours on a tree for a bird respect

  • That one awesome pet owner!

  • this is why i don't like birds in cages :/ it just wants ti fly & be in trees..

  • Love happy ending:D

  • Now THATS love for your animal. :)

  • I thought only cat do that

  • my GOD! that Coats Guard man is a hero! let's hear it for the Coast Guard! MOST wonderful. and thank GOd the cockatoo was okay too. FIVE stars !

  • I guess you had NOT seen this...smile...

  • A MAN WIV REAL HEART

  • Couldn't the bird just fly down? Anyway, good old USCG.

  • Birds have to LEARN how to fly -- pet birds never learn that in the average home and only know how to climb. Plus their DNA tells them that only "UP" is safe...not down...so this parrot was stuck up there and needed help...

  • @wildlifeguardian Exactly right. Even professionals have to teach their birds for some time how to fly back down, it's much harder then up! This is why pet birds should have their wings clipped, or they should be CAREFULLY watched when windows are open! Thank goodness this bird was lucky enough to have an owner who cared enough to risk his life to save him, and a cost gaurd to help him out when he couldn't do it alone!

  • poor bird !

  • sniff... so happy...

  • wow that was great , Soooooo Sweetttttt....

  • omg so cute

  • if that ever happened 2 my rabbit

    i'd fight bears, wolves

all kinds of predators to rescue her

even if i have to die to rescue her

  • Dang... amazing... anything for a family :D

  • that's a perfecly good branch, and angled upwards too. I don't see why they think it could break. i mean unless the guy stats jumping up and down on it. Stupid sensationalist reporting, there's a perfectly scary situation without making up nonexistent dangers.

PS: wish i could climb like that. next time remember to bring a pillow case with string it's opening to close it. put the bird in, tie to your belt, and down you go XD

  • I think he got his strength to climb up the tree is because on how much he wanted to get his bird. :) its amazing

  • I think I know what does he feel when he want to rescue his cockatoo.... T_T I ever once had a dove and it rain away, but luckily, it came back to the cage... after that, my dove was clipped

  • if that ever happened to one of m animals, i would swim threw sharks, jelly fish or any danger to save them. I would cry my heart out if anything happened to my pets!

  • hey. i can relate. i have had birds for 12 years. and they ARE like your own kids.

  • thats insane~~

how did he climb up that tree??

the ending is so touchingg~~ *^^*

  • I can't climb 2 meters!

  • man that touching....at the end .......*Sniff*

  • It's amazing how he climbed that tree

  • freaking insane !

  • his smart climibing that tree lol

  • You're Crazy man!

  • what an intense story. i identify with the fella about his love for his big bird. i too love both of ours verey much. SO glad for the happy ending and YES! both Peaches and Albert have their wings clipped.

  • Except they could still climb...smile...just watch out for hawks! :>) Peaches and Albert look so happy on that big branch! Looks like they have been doing a little bark stripping, too! :>)

  • they mostly don't do that. the large wild birds are wary of them (thin crows and ravens). no hauks around thank goodness. we ahve two rescued cats as well. and YES! they both dearly love tree bark. i ahve to go and get some safe paint to cover their damage. all in all, they have a home for the rest of their lives and that's how it is supposed to be i think.

  • holy lol

  • Wow what a story........

  • when i evacuated from katrina, i was stuck on some cow farm in the middle of nowhere and the same thing happened to me and my bird, scout, except i wasn't able to climb the tree so i was on the roof. the fire dept wouldn't come. eventually, i got up on a ladder and we made a huge"pole" and tied his perch to the end of it. he finally made it to the perch and into my arms.

  • but i still did not clip his wings. accidents happen and you deal with it- you don't disable a bird for convenience and peace of mind. you just have to be more careful. i would die for my birds, but i will never clip them.

  • I have a sun conure and only clip 5 of the 10 flight feathers. He can still fly in a controlled manner, but is unable to gain more than 5 feet in altitude.

  • I always keep my umbrella cockatoo's wings clipped...not to avoid escape, but because the bird hates my husband! Has flown across the room to bite him, screaming "I'll GET you!!!" LOLOL

  • a testament to true love

  • Sometimes 'love' can get us into some tall trouble! :>)
