Song is nice, but there is never a need, or an appropriate place to say negative things about another culture's traditions without the knowledge of why they are done.

I'm glad I grew up around nice, less prejudiced Indians.

Many westerners, depending upon their background also do not blow out the candles on a birthday cake, including some HIndus who are living in western countries.
