I do like Metallica's version since it introduced me to this band, but I like this even better. It's a lot faster and tuned higher than Metallica did, though it sounded pretty good the way they did it too since the slight downtuning gave it a nice crunch. Also, I like James' lyrical edit "Free FUCKING speech" at the end of each verse. Anyway, back to this version. Bones really is one hell of a great guitarist.

Big regards for METALLICA for doing their CRAPPY covers :))). As now being familiar with originals I can easily say, that most of that covers sucked. BUT: as a kid, 13yrs ago I had the original Metallica Garage Inc. album and I pretty much liked that tracks. I had an info - who's cover is it, who wrote it, and when was it originally recorded. This introduced to me a big part of rock music history in times, when internet was not that developed. Metallica - I am forever grateful for that!

Thrash was first meant to describe the hardcore scene in New York, and then thrash *metal* was understood as a mixture between heavy metal and hardcore punk (like Anthrax). The name itself is a direct reference to both styles. A thrash metal lover who hates punk simply makes no sense. At least they never heard Discharge, GHB or The Exploited! :-P
