  • FYI,this pond is now overpopulated with fishes & tortoises with people releasing them into this pond making the water now v. dirty & many of the fishes bought fr market may not survive. One worker said someone released a big koi fish & 3hrs later, the fish died (floated) due to new environment or dirty water. Due to overcrowding, the tortoises & fishes seem more violent & stress than previously when it was not so overpopulated. Pls. STOP releasing them in this pond! Choose other natural venues.

  • What a lovely thing to do. Helping animals instead of harming them

  • i like what u guys did, keep it up and good luck~

  • Om ma ne pa me hu

  • @pemala777 Medicine Buddha mantra is extremely beneficial to be blown on animals. If one blows on the animal even the bones, and even if the animal or human have died hundreds of years ago it benefits the animal or human. I recall this from a talk Rinpoche gave before. The Medicine Buddha mantra has the ability to purify lots of negative karma.

  • H.H. is having Breakfast and lunch.

People who are so critical should stop wearing shoes, belts and jackets made of leather or fur !

  • All these wonderful people liberating fishes are accumulating a lot of merits too -^-

  • Liberating Fish is in Tibetan Buddhist Tradition, Fish is one of the 8 Auspicious Signs.

    1. Tibetans are nomads the life is harsh not much vegetables grow up there 4'ooo m

    2. Buddha did not forbid to eat meat.

If Tibet has the same climate as Malaysia we would certainly eat only vegetables.

    thank you !

  • I'm not trying to be a dick, its just that in my area, people buy non-native fish like oscars, gar, and snakehead and release them into our ponds intentionally.. If those fish are native to the area, its not such a big deal, but please keep that in mind next time. Again, im just worried, i dont know enough to really condemn it. I love fish too. They are beautiful, and i hate commercial fisheries that take huge amounts of them. I only believe in taking what you need and ONLY that.

  • Did you guys even check if that fish was native to that body of water? Walking catfish are NOT something to release like that!!

  • This Tsem Tulku Rinpoche always finds different means, methods and ways to benefit so many different beings! Amazing how compassionate he is... what an inspiration. My whole family have turned vegetarian since listening to Rinpoche's teachings. It is true, we/I was very selfish and cruel because the eating of dead animals was just to satisfy our taste buds. It was pure pleasure... can't imagine the karma of those hunting/fishing!

  • These fishes are so lucky and very fortunate that there is Rinpoche to bless them, getting an amazing rebirth. I love Rinpoche, he is a great inspiration to everyone.

  • the fishes has been blessed by a kind lama. they will definately get a better rebirth.

  • Thank you. Please accept my mentally imagined offerings...

  • 放生功德不可思议!

    有病该放生,痊愈后更应该继续下去,

    持之以恒,不可中断!

    你给别人一条生路,上天也会给你一条生路!

    阿彌陀佛!

  • i respect this, but won't the dalai lama just eat the fish you just released???

I love him but he should be vegetarian.

  • I think we should all have awareness for the suffering of animals. Since we wouldn't want to be treated the way we treat animals, so we should not abuse them. Having greater awareness for the suffering of animals will reflect in our dealings with people as well.

  • We should continue to find new places and new ways to liberate the lives of these fishes. It is anyhow a great practice of non-harming and non-violence. Since we so like to eat meat, we should do more do benefit animals and to create the cause for the animal shelter to materialize.

  • Lovely work and I do hope that HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's life will be lengthened and all his Dharma work to grow and benefit countless being. May all obstacles that hinders his life, works and students be overcome easily.

  • May H E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche's Animal Shelter materialize soon to benefit a lot of animals and for many to practice compassion towards the animals.

  • Yes, may the Dharma grow in this country, may such eminent teachers like HE Tsem Tulku Rinpoche live long!!!

  • Thank you so much !

  • Animal liberation directly creates the cause for long life!!! He dedicates this liberation to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche, Kyabje Lati Rinpoche, Kensur Konchok Tsering Rinpoche, all of Rinpoche's Lamas, his students, those who work in any of the departments of Kechara House and the many friends and sponsors that have supported him and the organization. L

  • Wow! I would like to join in one of these animal liberation events in the future. I guess i will keep my ears and eyes peeled. Does anybody want to join me?

  • I hope the animal shelter project will manifest, and I hope it will be as successful as Kechara Soup Kitchen. This is because I can see that Kechara is sincere in helping others and hence the animals will be in good hands.

  • I agree with you. Kechara Soup Kitchen has many video clips on youtube, showing various local celebrities going on food distribution rounds. This shows that they are doing a good job to draw attention of many to care about the community, especially the homeless.

  • Kechara is really a true Buddhist organization. Not only do they have daily prayers and Dharma classes, they also engage in compassionate actions through Kechara Soup Kitchen and promote vegetarianism- although Buddhism doesnt require them to be vegetarian. This really shows that they are sincere and caring people.

  • Apart from this, Kechara also has a Soup Kitchen that give food to homeless every Saturday and Sunday. It is also a great project to benefit the homeless who are suffering from hunger and neglect.

  • Theres also the Independent Pet Rescue team. It is great that Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and Kechara dont just talk about wanting an animal shelter, but they are already out there helping the existing ones, and also creating causes by liberating animals etc, like what we say in this video. This shows that they are really sincere in getting it up. I hope sponsors and volunteers will come to help.

  • May His Eminenece Tsem Rinpoche have a very long and meritorious life !!! Om Mani Padme Hum

  • I want to become a vegetarian for life, don't want to eat any fish or meat anymore. May all animals have a happy life.

  • Err... interesting... Rinpoche really great, can turn a Drakula into vegetarian! Wow... Compassion really can conquer all..!

  • So many fishes released, May all the ocean and lakes live with happy fishes and free of people capture them for food. May people adopt to vegetarianism. I will be a Vegetarian for life.

  • I am so happy to see so many lifes saved today. Just a bit worry, that is okay to release in the lake. I don't know if the sign-board in the Park indicate anything of not allow any release animal or not. In some country, they indicate in the park of not allow animal releasing in the area. I guess in Malaysia is okay. May all Rinpoche's prayer come true.

  • Om Mani Padme Hung. May Rinpoche have a long and healthy live.

  • I have read the weekly Kechara New News newsletter and received so many news about Tsem Rinpoche and Kecharas effort in helping the animals through the available shelters right now, namely Kathmandu Animal Treatment (KAT) centre, Furry Friends Farm, and so on.

  • How auspicious to have a rainbow showing after liberating the animals. I do believe in what Tsem Rinpoche said about the rainbow as a sign. This act of kindness that saves hundreds of fishes from ending up as someones dinner is really great. I rejoice for Tsem Rinpoches kind act and may Rinpoches wish to have an animal shelter manifest soon.

  • Wow, Tsem Tulku Rinpoche HIMSELF goes to liberate and feed the fishes. This shows how Tsem Tulku Rinpoche really loves animals. I hope what Rinpoches wishes to set up an animal shelter will be successful.

  • Thank you Rinpoche for showing us this method of saving animals. It is really heartening to see that out there, especially in Asia, there are people who liberate them instead of eating them!

  • Vegetarianism is the way to go its good for the environment, and it promotes non-violence towards the animals. Bravo Kechara Oasis!

  • Thank you for posting this video of Tsem Tulku Rinpoches Dharma talk about the land deities. I knew more about these supernatural beings. And the rainbow, how amazing.

  • Now she opened a vegetarian restaurant, Kechara Oasis, thank you Irene, please keep up the good work!

  • Very nice to hear the story about Irene Lim, the founder and director of Kechara Oasis, the new age vegetarian restaurant. How kind of her, to help take care of monks in the past and also raise funds for the old monks.

  • I dont know about miraculous signs etc, but definitely the merit of saving all these fishes - 100kg of live catfish, I am sure there are few hundreds of them, this is definitely miraculous!

  • Hey, the Chef from the vegetarian restaurant is there too. Ive been to Kechara Oasis before. The food is delicious! I think perhaps its time to commit to be a full time vegetarian!

  • What a nice way to spend the weekend by saving lives instead of eating them (at the restaurants, of course)! Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is really a role model for us to non-violence against animals.

  • Comment removed

  • This really is an act of generosity without agenda, and hence I am not surprised with the miraculous appearance of the rainbow! Please live long to turn the wheel of Dharma His Eminence.

  • Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is so kind to do this to dedicate to the long life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Kensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche, Kyabje Lati Rinpoche, Kensur Konchok Tsering Rinpoche, and so many.

  • It's great to see Tsem Tulku Rinpoche himself feeding the fishes. The fishes are so lucky to be saved by H.E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.

Tsem Tulku Rinpoche really loves animals and practicing real compassion.

  • Liberating animal is a profound method to prolong life and cure sickness. It is also a method to cultivate compassion.

  • Yes, it is a popular Buddhist practice in this region. This is done as an act of compassion, to save lives. The purpose is to dedicate towards the long life of our beloved.

  • Wow, thats a lot of work to release the fish. Is this a common practice in Asia?

  • Beautiful video! Thank you
