The show host she talks about is Paul de Leeuw. I watched that episode and it was very funny. By the way he is indeed gay, has two (adopted) childeren and is married...to a guy ;) Yes, that is all possible in Holland.
Bye!
Annie you look so hot and sexy wearing those lovely Mouse EARS. Thought I would never see you wearing something like that, specially in that silver color and that suit!!
Besides being a super pop star you are a very hot beautiful lady. Thanks just for being!
Annie, our H2O molecule is surrounded by an "electron" whose orbit is 180 degrees to the "south". All fluids consumed are "forced-through metal piping" in their processing, which make their "electrons" spin to the NORTH! Drinking this in-correctly influenced fluids actually "negates" our own "7 year cellular rebuild cycle". To stop this affect watch: A New Cure for Cancer and everything else.
I hate to be a party pooper but...c'mon guys and gals, some of these questions are questions you would (should) ask a counselor! ROFL! Annie ain't a counselor, she's a regular person who is a singer. Sorry... hope I didn't get people mad at me! O_O lol
LOL!!! "If your an aspiring pop star, go work in a fish factory! That's the road to success folks. " Oh Annie I have loved you for the longest time and this wonderful! muah! xoxoxox
hi, annie youve been such an icon for me, your music has gotten me through some really tough times, i would like to know your story or the inspriation behind my favourite song: 'no more i love you's'. thanks Amanda
I haven't taken the time to scan all 9 bajillion (that really should be a number) comments posted so someone might have already asked this-
What made you decide to break out of the box and appear as more of an androgynous persona? you're seen as one of the first icons to break out like that, and it's been an amazing inspiration to me and a confidence booster. Thank you.
What is your beauty regime- you look fantastic- are you someone who does alot of yoga or excercise? do you have posh facials? you don't seem the type to yet you look fantastic!
have you ever considered to perform in Buenos Aires, Argentina? it would be great! i just discovered your count here in Youtube, love your work! adios!beso!^_^
I love your music so much, I believe Eurythmics is the best music group ever!Their songs are amazingly beautifull!!!!!! I have an obsession with their music, this kind of music encouraged me so much and make me feel so relaxed and happy as almost nothing else can! Thanks for everything you are very special.
I am a casual fan who is about to dive into your collection with more zest based upon this certain very good feeling I have been getting up and down my spine every time I hear your voice these days, Annie, and I must say, I found this interview to be delightful and your answers to be hilarious!
OOO I thought of a question if its not too late: I have been particularly moved watching your performance of "Under Pressure" with David Bowie at the The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert for AIDS Awareness. Is there a genuine camaraderie among British "rock stars"/musicians/artists in general? I mean aside from occasionally getting together for worthy causes and to celebrate the life of treasured icons such as Freddie? I mean, I could totally see you having Peter Gabriel over for tea.
And of course anything you want to add about that particular performance, Freddie and the boys, Finding Cures for horrible disease, etc.... would be interesting.
BTW, since my last post (and I promise to stop post whoring up your video here after this... ), I purchased "Songs for Mass Destruction". LOVE IT!!!!!!
You may not, but I think you are extraordinary and have truly followed your vocation. You've got your feet on the ground and are still great fun. You are always helping and inspiring people. The efforts you put into averting the West Bank conflict were so impressive. Strength to your arm.
I am a high school teacher that has spent 17years choosing to teach in inner-inner schools. Mostly 97% minority usually with 49% drop-out rate. I am constantly in pain and I have just come to the point where I have gone out on disability retirement. I feel guilty and that I didn't do enough to help these students. Planning periods were a misnomer. Calling parents, helping students, sometimes still being at school at 8pm. I am still trying to find the answer of who I am. Can you relate? I am 54.
I have no other words to say other then you're awesome! Your song, "No More I Love Yous" is the best song ever recorded and has such great meaning. Good luck as you prepare future songs to share in the upcoming months.
Also, I loved your comment at the American Music Awards, regarding the "home of the free and the land of the brave". They should make sure they're singing about everyone! Thank you.
Could you please respond to President Obama's speech in Cairo. I feel very lucky to be an American with this current administration and would be very interested to hear your opinions. Also, I love your work. James
For your song "Cold" I could really relate to all of it really, and I was wondering what you were going through, and about how you got the concept for the video.
Hi Annie! Its wonderful to see you here on YT, and I wonted to say you are a inspiration and a amazing song writer and singer I think your awesome! Anyway just wonted to say hi! For now, and have a wonderful weekend,
now that you're a star and you've had many or all the things you dreamed when you were a child, and you have experienced a lot of situations in life, what's the dream you'd like came true or a thing, not a dream, that you miss in your life.
I really admire what you came up with here on YouTube,I was listening to this Kate Bush radio interview the other day, the one and only that she ever did for promoting her 2005 album Aerial, and she said, in her own classy way that she cannot and will never understand the meaning of the word "celebrity".
So, how can one find the perfect balance between being massacred by the media like Britney Spears and being a Kate Bush?
Do you or did you do much local musical theatre? In your early videos you seemed to love having story lines, were they the inspiration for the song? My mom loves you. I am 11yrs old.
I know you are on holiday but I have a huge favor to ask. HOW rude of me let me introduce myself. My name is Lisa I'm getting married May 30th and I'll be 27 May 30th. I just recently discovered that I have been a big fan of your music. In the past I had listened to your songs but did not know I was listening to you. If at all posible and you're off holiday I was wondering if you could just sing one song at my wedding. I understand if you can't but thanks for at least considering it
I can remember the furst time I saw the video for sweet dreams. I was 12 and had a bad cold. With nothing better to do I started watching the music channel. I got through a few boring songs then I see the beginning to Sweet Dreams. Never once in my life was I able to say I had an "Idol". After wathing that, I could safely say my Idol is you. (to be continued)
As of March 23 I am 16. Obviously my tastes in music are a little eccentric. (yes you are still my Idol and Princess Di) My question is, "What are your opinions on mainstream contemporary music and artists?"
Hello Ms Lennox. It's such a thrill to give us the opportunity to interact directly with you. Not many artists give us this privilege. My question is : did you ever feel like your success as half of Eurythmics was a burden, when you decided to establish yourself as a solo artist ? And if so, do you still feel that way from time to time ? Thanks ! Louis from Canada
Hi Annie - so nice for you to talk to us peeps through this medium THANK YOU!
Love your new work, just as I do the Eurythmics. Us peeps were all ecstatic about the 2005 Boxset and Remasters theyre fantastic. But I was wondering about the Nineteen Eighty-Four soundtrack. Like a lot of fans, I LOVE it! I also love the Eurythmics incidental music used in the actual film. Itd be great to see both remastered and released on one album. Any thoughts on this? Is it just a fan's silly dream?
je sais que tu parles un peu Francais .... je suis fan depuis plus de 20 ans ... vas tu revenir faire des concerts à Paris en 2009 ? tu nous manques beaucoup
Annie, I just love your video blogs, not many artists take the time to speak to their fans like you do. I always look forward to hearing from you.....and to answer your question @ 13:59, I am looking forward to many more years of inspired music from my favorite artist....Thank you
'The Walk' is my most favorite Eurythmics song, towards the end there are so many layers of sounds going on it's great, so much fun to listen to. I was wondering what were your most favorite keyboard parts to play when you were making Eurythmics recordings? I'd love to hear a current interpretation of that song, it's a shame it didn't do better commercially when it was first released..
I wish you would write your autobiography, I would love to know how you viewed aberdeen/ scotland as a child, your first (presumably train) journey to london, what it was like living in a house full of strangers, who's names you didn't know (as touched on in "this city never sleeps"), the trials & struggles the eurythmics with the american record label & the "vicious queens" & characters you encountered on the way up as detailed in "i've got a life".
Lovely Annie, As far as I know (maybe I lost the contact whith the rest of the world some years while I was immersed into the books during my graduation), you never performed here in Brazil.
So, what do you think about it? Do you intend to perform here?Your Brasillian Peeps are dying to see you Dear.I dream about it every single day.
Do you want your daughters to follow in your foot steps and be entertainers? or Do you want them to stay away from the Limelight knowing what you know about the industry? Do they study any musical instruments? What is their favorite subject?
Hi Loved Annie!! this is an original and funny way to comunicate with you. My only wish day after day, year after year is simply......COME TO ARGENTINA PLEASE!!!!! These moment will be pure hapiness to me and the rest of your fans here! I admire you deeply and only you got the skills to make me cry of joy! Love u Bye!
p.s. while you're reading, just a comment: I'm a huge fan of Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand, but they pay writers big bucks to be half as funny as you naturally are in these YouTube videos. Why not put this patter in your show, throw in a comedy number or two? Work it, girl! (Fair warning, though: if you think you have a big gay following now, it will quadruple).
Take this into consideration, but please answer my Catch question if you can only reply to one - thanks again!
Hi Annie- love discovering how hysterical you are after all these years!
Here's my question: it seems every interview cites The Tourists as your first band, but no one ever mentions The Catch and your real first single, "Borderline/Black Blood." So... how did The Catch form-then transform-into The Tourists? What inspired each song musically (ELO maybe?) and lyrically? Will the song ever be released on CD? And (only if you want) could you sing a bit of Borderline now or live one day? Thanks!
My question is: Is there anything else you would have liked to do in life for a career besides singing/performing? E.g. teahcher, designer etc? Alice x
Natalie's question wasn't stupid at all. It gave you "pause" and that's understandable.
Throwing it back at her was also understandable since the future "tree" of options/possibilities for you and Natalie (et al) are different. Clearly you avoided answering her question. That avoidance was significant.
The future?
We all eventually die.
Our challenge/opportunity is to joyfully lovingly leave the world a better place than we found it.
And you're doing a great job/play of that! Thank you!
Hi Annie, I am a fan of you from Hong Hong. I heard that you are a vegetarian? is that true? I suggest that when you come to hong kong next week, try 'chu cheung fan' (Steamed Rice Rolls with different sauces) and 'sweet and sour gluten'(one in red, one in yellow, and the other in brown). The former can be found in many different small shops nd the second one you can try any vegetarian restaurant! Enjoy your trip in Hong Kong! I represent hong kong fan to give you a big big welcome!
I have a virtual music quiz show on ABC Island in Secondlife. Eurythmics have come up quite a bit which is testimony to a great career I feel. If you find your name in a crossword or wheel of fortune, you're famous from that day foreword. ;)
You were playing a show at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne while I was taking night classes, learning to be a radio announcer, and we opened the windows and let your music in, it was great. :)
I still can't get over the greatness of your live performance with Queen + Bowie back in '92. For you three being my favourite artists of all-time it's like a revelation anytime I watch it.
Guess you've been asked that a thousand times before: but how was Freddie like?? I've seen some pictures of you and him together and he's stated every now and then how much he loved the Eurythmics-stuff...
Dear Annie, first of all, I'd like to say that you are an amazing songwriter, singer and performer and your songs always touch my heart and soul. The experiences that you share through your beautiful music always helped me to survive and to understand what life is. You're complete as a woman and as a star. Besides, I beg you to answer this question: when do you intend to go to Brazil to make a concert? I NEED to see you live in concert. Then, I can die in peace. Love U so much. Leandro.
I would like to give you some food for thougt. If there was one thing you could solve, make go away or make happen by clicking your fingers. What would that be?
1 Aids. 2 Poverty. 3 War. 4 Greenhouseeffect. 5 Pollution. 6 Dictators. 7 Cruelty to animals/ bio - industry. 8 The earth's exploitation. 9 Racism. 10 All children being able to go to school. 11 good universal health care??? Please feel free to add items to this list!
I love your music and hope to be a singer as well. My question for you is: did you study classical singing or opera before you became a professional singer?
thanks!
ps. your song, no more I love yous used to sooth me when I was a very young child. I made me belive that I could conqure the mosters under my bed. I used to get so scared at night and I would listen to it on my head phones untill I fell asleep. I still love that song!
you have saved my sould my so many times over the last x years, i can tell you how many times after what other peoplel might consider serious issues, that i just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.robert
It's great what you do for gay rights and social justice generally.
It would good to see you at the Tibet benefit at Conway Hall with Paul mcCartney 5 years ago - You were briefly alone on your mobile just just side the venue and I felt ti best to respect your space rather than say hello. So, hello now! Todd x
Gosh she's so cute. I'm ten years younger and haven't kissed anyone in ten years, but i'd love to .......well, maybe just gently touch her face with my hand. I used to dream that when i'd see her cry in a video.
Your positivity and optimism is a delight and an inspiration. How do you do it and maintain it? How do you focus on the world instead of just yourself?
If you could instantly experience being any another performer, for any day in their life, at any period, who would you be and what period would it be?
What was the worst comment a teacher gave you on a school report card and did you get up to any mischief at school?.Thanks for all the great music over the years. - John from Scotland.
Could you explain what message you're trying to express in your song "The Gift"? It is still my favorite and I have my own interpretation but to hear yours would be a dream. Love & Laughs, Eric.
A Question for the nest Q&A video: (can I ask two?)
Your photo shoots are amazing and made me take up photography, so when Bryan Adams(also another major idol to me) took the cover of your new album, it was like a perfect match.
I guess my Question is, would you ever consider doing a duet with Bryan?
And since you are so humble yourself and never forget your fans. Have you ever been starstruck by someone you met. and if so, by who?
When I suffered from Depression I'd write poems as a means of communicating my feelings; these days I write (as yet unpublished) novels, which help me get across the total & utter feelings of despair that I once felt, they also say 'Write what you know'. When you write songs, do you use your own experience as inspiration & if so, if you hadn't have suffered, what would you sing about? :-) Take care, Rachel. Newcastle-Upon-Tyne
You've performed all over the world, both indoor and oudoor venues. What was your most challenging venue based on weather conditions? (Heat, rain, show, whatever!)
How comfortable was that suit? I love the colors! You are Loonie! You are Extra-ordinary, an individual. Thank you for being Coo-Coo! I am glad to be one of your Peeps! I am trying to get your song, Shining Light, played on my local radio station but they won't until you get on "the charts" But I said how does she get on the charts if they don't play her song.
Listening to your music, many of your songs have a very dark & somewhat depressing tone. It sounds as if you have been thru a lot of pain. I would like to know: Have you ever been so depressed you have had suicidal thoughts? Did you feel like not going on? I have had thoughts of NOT going on, but I am here today. I don't know what tomorrow holds for me, I am taking it one day at a time. You help keep me going. Thank you Annie, for being "there" for me. You cheer me up, if only for a few moments
I´ve been always a fan of you and I love your videos ,you have created so many characters on your videos that I think you can be cast in a good movie , my question is ,
how come you have not being in a movie , like in a good role like cat woman or other dramatic role?
Annie, you are just charming.

Hi Annie,
now that you're a star and you've had many or all the things you dreamed when you were a child, and you have experienced a lot of situations in life, what's the dream you'd like came true or a thing, not a dream, that you miss in your life.
greetings from Italy.

Annie, What was the most fun of your albums to record all the way back to the Eurythmics?

Hello Annie,
I really admire what you came up with here on YouTube,I was listening to this Kate Bush radio interview the other day, the one and only that she ever did for promoting her 2005 album Aerial, and she said, in her own classy way that she cannot and will never understand the meaning of the word "celebrity".
So, how can one find the perfect balance between being massacred by the media like Britney Spears and being a Kate Bush?

Do you and Dave have plans to colaborate on any new music any time soon? You know your fans will love it and you for ever.

Hello Annie Lennox!
AnarchyNakiwarai 2 years ago
Now I told you that story to introduce this.

'The Walk' is my most favorite Eurythmics song, towards the end there are so many layers of sounds going on it's great, so much fun to listen to. I was wondering what were your most favorite keyboard parts to play when you were making Eurythmics recordings? I'd love to hear a current interpretation of that song, it's a shame it didn't do better commercially when it was first released..

I wish you would write your autobiography, I would love to know how you viewed aberdeen/ scotland as a child, your first (presumably train) journey to london, what it was like living in a house full of strangers, who's names you didn't know (as touched on in "this city never sleeps"), the trials & struggles the eurythmics with the american record label & the "vicious queens" & characters you encountered on the way up as detailed in "i've got a life".

p.s. while you're reading, just a comment: I'm a huge fan of Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand, but they pay writers big bucks to be half as funny as you naturally are in these YouTube videos.

Thanks!

I have a question!
Annie, did you write most of your own songs or did someone write them for you?
x3Supernannyfreakx3 2 years ago
Natalie's question wasn't stupid at all. It gave you "pause" and that's understandable.
Throwing it back at her was also understandable since the future "tree" of options/possibilities for you and Natalie (et al) are different. Clearly you avoided answering her question. That avoidance was significant.
The future?
We all eventually die.
Our challenge/opportunity is to joyfully lovingly leave the world a better place than we found it.
And you're doing a great job/play of that! Thank you!

My dearest Annie,
I still can't get over the greatness of your live performance with Queen + Bowie back in '92. For you three being my favourite artists of all-time it's like a revelation anytime I watch it.

Thanks for being you!

Thank you so much, Annie!

Listening to your music, many of your songs have a very dark & somewhat depressing tone. It sounds as if you have been thru a lot of pain.
