  • martin scorsese makes the most realistic mafia movies, makes u wonder how much he actually knows about organized crime. by far the greatest director of our time!

  • 3 people were shot in the head while coming home with groceries by Sgt. Dignam

  • man i don't know why, but this makes me feel nostalgic, very beautiful piece of music by the way

  • 3 people got shot by Mark Walhberg!

  • ok....

  • the departed has the best soundtrack!

  • Great sound. R.i.p

  • ROY'S DEAD

  • he's my neighbour

  • Roy..you nailed this...Patsy has nothin on you!

  • Boom! Headshot!

  • why did I think that Billy was 'the rat' in The Departed? he was the cop who messed with Costello right?

  • this version doesnt beat patsy clines at all

  • THE DEPARTED BROUGHT ME HERE. GET OFFENDED BUCHANAN FANS

  • roy buchanan is one of my alltime favorite guitarists

the departed is one of my alltime favorite movie

just finished watching it and now love them both way more

  • I know most Roy Buchanan fans will hate me for saying this, but The Departed brought me here. My favorite guitarists are buddy guy, freddie/albert/bb king, albert collins, jimi hendrix, eddie hazel, peter green, and then a special place for Mark Knopfler, my second favorite, and Duane Allman, by far my all-time favorite. It's a huge joy to hear a talent like Roy Buchanan when I didn't even know he existed before today! That sounds bad I suppose, but you hear everyone for a first time.

  • @uw10isplaya You have damned fine taste my friend, and no one is going to hate on you for discovering! Roy isn't nearly as well known as he should be, and I for one am glad you enjoy his music (on his behalf). If you don't already know Joe Bonamassa, check him out. He has chops that I had trouble believing at first. (check out his solo act and his group Black Country Communion!)

  • yeeeaaaa

  • @tinribs97 err he copied infernal affairs like scene for scene lmfao..

although i did like the departed A LOT more, (my favorite movie by far), so yea i guess props to him....

  • All I know is ROY KIKKED arse

so sadd He is gone .

I try to copy st iof 6 of his liks Roy we miss you

    Jim

  • okay...

  • "For instance. I look at you, and I think, what can I use ya far."

  • My favorite scene is with Alec Baldwin and Matt at the driving range and Baldwin talks about the professioal virtues of marriage. Very funny! "Lets everyone know hes not a homo, and at least someone can stand the poor bastard." This slips under the radar.

  • so serene this version and luv it just as much as the original by patsy cline thanks 4 posting

  • I instantly fell in love with this song the first time I heard it.

  • Mark Wahlberg was awesome in that. I wish he had a few more scenes though.

  • @gaara12396

    Yeppers. Straight-up funereal.

  • @gaara12396 Well it's sad when you think about alongside how Roy Buchanan passed away. So yeah kind of sad as he was superb when doing this live...you could see every little emotion he poured into his playing.

  • endonde puedo vajar este solo de guitarra gratis

  • brings on those Irish mafia emotions all over again...

  • the guitar and piano/organ in the beginning sounds so good, makes me think of life

  • classssssssssse

  • I first heard this, as a 'live' video, on "The Old Grey Whistle Test" back in the 70s - if memory serves me right, it was the first time that public opinion forced the show to air a repeat of a performance

    Sheer guitar brilliance

  • Shame that it cuts out before its climactic end

I managed to obtain a 7" vinyl copy of this - full length version with "John's Blues" on the 'B' side

Sadly, my record collection has gone the way of all flesh but I would almost give my right arm to get that disc back

  • Just finished watching this movie--it was utterly gripping-- When I heard the this at the end I though "Wow", must get this-- but the credits rolled to quick to get who did it -Cue Youtube and up it comes! brilliant renditiion of a country classic-- Patsy Cline would never recognise it, but she would like it. I'd bet. Many thanks for posting this.

  • beginning really got me

  • nice

  • I thought it worked well with this movie, Roy's music is timeless

  • Hey Roy if I could get the guitar lick from 1:50 through like 1:55 in tabs that would be wonderful.

  • @JaMMeRHiLL dude he is dead

    been dead for a while

  • @daaustinfromcali

    He was just joking

  • @daaustinfromcali Yeah well he sent the tabs if you want to see them. Just more proof that great music lives on forever.

  • Roy Buchanan
