I am a graduate student. I am putting together a compilation of stories from Veterans who were part of WWII. I am looking to interview anyone who has a story from WWII. My grandparents served in this war - my grandfather as a US Navy captain and my grandmother as a staff sgt in the WAC.
They did not live to see this. My grandfather died in 1986, my grandmother in 1998.
But I have seen this memorial in person.
And when I was there, I broke down and cried like a 2 year old.
