  • Furthermore: soldiers are supposed to be asked, by a mental health professional, on the day that they return from battle, "Are you ok?" and "Do you need to talk to someone?" - but that isn't even happening. I was there - no one asked them, and they had been gone for 15 months in battle.

  • An even more shocking statistic would be the numbers relating to how many soldiers need help, but are too ashamed to ask for it. The #1 problem is how the military system perpetuates the shame in asking for help. Soldiers are told that it will damage their careers if they claim PTSD, so they don't...

  • Mr. Montgomery has been substituting at our school lately and he has talked about his book, war experiences, and the good deed he is trying to accomplish for the veterans. He has truly touched my heart with his stories. Thank you Mr. Montgomery.
