@derekmerek101 Too bad Sonic loses way too many rings while Boosting as Super Sonic in that game. Sega! Why with the limitations? Super Sonic is supposed an overpowered reward, not something to strategically boost with.

I think they were intended to be rings you could draw in with your Boost, but I don't think it's possible to get them.

@Hakavidplz23 they can be caught by going through the loop with that bright blue trail sonic leaves behind, it's sort of like a paraloop (if you know NiGHTS, you know what i mean)

@SolarisParadox Thank you! The most interesting speed runs are the ones that DON"T break the game into pieces just to have a time that says: 0:09:00. I just don't see the point in bragging about beating a game in 5 seconds if you just glitch across the entire game. That's like turning it on, then turning it off and saying "I got the fastest game over ever!". Props to you, officially bieng one of my favoirte speed runners.

Thanks, although technically, these aren't even speed-runs--just S-Rank runs. I try to balance a skillful blast-through of the stage with picking up rings and destroying robots for more points. Shamar isn't a good example--I'm pretty bad at this stage--but that's why I don't just fly straight down the skydive pit in Spagonia, but rather slow down to grab rings on the way.

@SolarisParadox Ah yeah. I noticed when I saw your run of Spagonia (I personally just dash down the side so I avoid getting hit by the spike balls actually, I still beat the stage with over 800 rings anyway). I do also agree that Shamar is such an annoying stage due to the beginning (and the fact that that one mission forces you to be good at the second half of the stage), but still, it's still FAR more entertaining than flying past half the level with glitches for sure!

I'm gonna be playing this level A LOT in order to memorize all this shit. So disheartening, especially when I just have this stage to S rank and get all the medals, Act 2 to S rank and get all medals, Night Act 1 to S rank and get all medals, the boss to S rank and get all medals, the hot dog vendor missions, Eggman Land Act to S rank and get all the medals, and the Eggman Land hot dog vendor missions to do before I complete the whole game.

whenever I'm reaching that cliff at 3:02 I always pray that sonic stays on the field, and doesn't run off it.... this stage wasn't that well executed honestly. but the sense of speed in this stage is superb

I don't play Shamar that often. Having to constantly re-start the level because that first town section decided to be a finicky bitch just kind of turns me off to playing it.

@SolarisParadox Amen to that. Actually, I think the entire stage as a whole is really finicky! It's fun in a "Did I just really do that?" sort of way, but I still haven't managed to beat the Lv 3 Time Trial!

I got the Lv. 3 Time Trial, but it was a pain to master the level. I stuck with it, though--I just had to get all of the Achievements for this one.

Which reminds me, I really should round up the last few Records and Art Books. I think I'll do that today, actually.

@SolarisParadox Actually, since then, I managed to beat that Time Trial. (Imagine a look of satisfaction) Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever be able to get all the achievements. I apparently came across some kind of glitch: I completed all the Spagonia Hot Dog Missions, but it didn't give me the achievement! I checked the GameSpot forum and found someone else who experienced the same problem! ARGH!!!

I hate it when games have those achievement glitches... but if you ever start a new file at any point (you can have your old file on a different storage device if you want), you could probably get the achievement then.
