@TheShitHatemenow MacBook Air is a great computer for what it is, but it does not offer a disk drive and it is not as fast. I have a MaBook Pro 15-inch with a Core i7 processor. It is very fast and reliable and it is light for what is in the computer. So if you are looking for a very fast and reliable computer, I suggest the MacBook Pro because if you have software to use via disk, you wont have as much of an issue with it. But if you are a light comp user, go for the MacBook Air. Mac FTW! :)

I'm a college student and I have an HP and I'll be entering my 3rd year of college next fall and I've been wanting to get a more up to date computer and I really want a Mac, does anyone know what the prices are going to possibly be since the economy's not doing so good? apple doesn't care, they do good no matter what economy. They're macbook pro's are worth every penny. They're reliable for many years, durable, beautiful, run great, and are very efficient along with a max of 7 hour battery life, i get 7 all the time at school doing homework, researching. Also great price value, it stays strong, get one
usually they don't drop the price point on new releases, just add better spec's. I don't think this will happen, but if apple decides to drop the white macbook from their line, then perhaps the cheapest 13 inch mb pro will be 1,000. I'm not too impressed with the entry level mb pro, only 2gb of ram is pretty bad, but i expect they'll bump that up to 4gbs with the 2010 version, seeing it's only a 100 dollar upgrade now.
I don't hate to wait for the release of the new Macbook Pro, but the insecurity and impatienceness about not knowning the date of release, is it going to be tomorrow or in June? That's the difficult part for me. It would be a lot easier to wait if Apple just said this month is the month or something. This new Macbook Pro has to be worth waiting!
Core 2 Duo to Core i3 Because the macbook is the cheapest in the family, so i dont think that this will change.
Otherwise, the macbook PRO MUST CHANGE to quad cores, all might have the core i5 processors and the 17 inch might have an optional upgrade to core i7. or only the 17 inch also.
The macbook air MUST have to change into core i5 but dual core because its too thin, or maybe apple gives a quad thin core surprise :D

I really don't think that the 13 inch pro will start at 3.06ghz coz tht is just too high a jump frm 2.26ghz and i dont think that the 13inch will go quad core, maybe the best 15 inch and 17inch will, that sounds more realistic. @MattMJB0188 I was planning on buying the MBP 13in too but was told by a few people to wait for the refresh sometime within the next couple months. I don't believe they'll raise the price. I think they'll say: Same low price. Now faster than ever. Either that or they'll lower the price but I don't think they'll raise the price.

@C4MB4 I would return it unopened. Call customer care and ask if you can do an in-store trade-in when the new ones come out or something. DON'T open it because they might use that as an excuse to keep you stuck with it.

No, i7 does not offer that many benefits. The price will go up by 17.5% in January - Trust me, you will only see a difference with i7 if you are coding. Gaming wise, you would not see any difference.
There will not be much improvement. With the Mac OS + DDR3 memory + Over 2GHz duo core processing, as soon as you click on the browser it will open up in a matter of milliseconds. The purpose of more cores is so that you can open up more applications at once - However, Macs can multi task without much lag from other applications. As for Windows on bootcamp, if you are not naturally running several clients at once, there will still not be a big impact.
Sell it when the next update comes out. I'm planning on selling my Macbook Aluminum and updating to a 15 inch Macbook Pro but not until they update it. So, keep enjoying your 13 inch Macbook Pro and don't rush.

Very unlikely. Macs are coming down in price bit by bit. Thats not to say there will be a price drop here but I certainly don't foresee them being more expensive. That would be crazy.
Questions: would the price be the same?(mbp) and would the new macbook pro have same graphics card? because I do like the graphics card that they have currently. or is it going to be made by intel and be terrible integrated graphics? that would just totally ruin the mbp.
I'm glad I got my 13'' MacBook Pro 2.53Ghz model now, as the licensing issue with NVIDIA & intel is gonna prevent NVIDIA making GPU's for the Arrandale. I guess that means intel will be making the graphics, god no lol. I do though expect this maybe be an option on the high end 15'' and 17'' models :)

@MattMJB0188 I was planning on buying the MBP 13in too but was told by a few people to wait for the refresh sometime within the next couple months. I don't believe they'll raise the price. I think they'll say: Same low price. Now faster than ever. Either that or they'll lower the price but I don't think they'll raise the price.

@C4MB4 I would return it unopened. Call customer care and ask if you can do an in-store trade-in when the new ones come out or something. DON'T open it because they might use that as an excuse to keep you stuck with it.

Only reason i say blu ray is because mac is supposedly hunting down eather sony or panosonic, dont remember, but they are looking for a slim line CD/DVD/Blu ray read and write for all, supposed for a $100 or $200 upcharge, dunno

No, i7 does not offer that many benefits. The price will go up by 17.5% in January - Trust me, you will only see a difference with i7 if you are coding. Gaming wise, you would not see any difference.

There will not be much improvement. With the Mac OS + DDR3 memory + Over 2GHz duo core processing, as soon as you click on the browser it will open up in a matter of milliseconds. The purpose of more cores is so that you can open up more applications at once - However, Macs can multi task without much lag from other applications. As for Windows on bootcamp, if you are not naturally running several clients at once, there will still not be a big impact.

Actually, it is expected that Macs will rise 15% during Q1 despite that new chips are less expensive. It is not a big deal though.

I'm glad I got my 13'' MacBook Pro 2.53Ghz model now, as the licensing issue with NVIDIA & intel is gonna prevent NVIDIA making GPU's for the Arrandale. I guess that means intel will be making the graphics, god no lol. I do though expect this maybe be an option on the high end 15'' and 17'' models :)
