  • @MostepanovaFan

For all of your gymnastics guides, how do you get all of your imformation? Like the values and letter difficulties?

    -Thanks

  • Does difficulty only go to G?

  • where did you get the code of points?

  • Full Twist In Double Tuck is named TSUKAHARA, not Mukhina.

  • maybe this is pointless, but, is it a requirement to have at least one backward tumbling pass in a routine, or is allowed to have just front tumbling passes in all the exercise? (im asking this after watching some videos of Produnova))

  • what is the mustic callled?

  • so let me get this straight, if someone added a whip to lets say a triple twist, then they get a connection bonus?

  • Wow i will never be able to do that! ;(

  • i hate watching gymnastics nowadays. Everyone does the same passed, tucked double arabian, 2.5 twist layout punch front, triple twist, double pike. So boring :(

  • I thought a double salto forwards was a G skill :/ ??

  • srry..it is Courtney Kupets

  • Comment removed

  • When did Shawn perform the front half layout in the 2008 olympics. I thought she was performing a 1 1/2

  • @coreyobr she performed it only in the qualification and team final

  • Why a double front with a 1/2 twist isn't an F is beyond me...

  • @markoparko me either...they need to change the floor difficulty

  • Pretty sure straight back with 2 twists is performed by Yang Yun and not Huang Mandan. But oh well, it doesn't really matter, the montage is about the skills anyway (:

  • Whoa!!!!!

  • wats the name of the music, anyone know?

  • It's missing "the Wagner" .

  • What is an Arabian Layout worth?

  • to do i mean :$

  • I wonder if there ever gonna be a double - double straight at womans gymnastics, i think that dos santos is able to dot that move, would it be an H move?!?!?!?

  • alona kvasha sticking double front is amazing!

  • wow thanks just what i wanted

  • Why didnt you take the "Wagner" exersis ? ( i dont know how to spell "exersis" )

Dubbel front salto in pike !!

  • @FNiklasF I'm assuming you are talking about the Swede Veronica Wagner? if she has competed a double front pike, she would have to do the skill (and not fall) in a world championships, olympics,or world cup.I have never seen one but would be interested in seeing it.Once she performs the skill, the FIG would have to decide whether to put it in the code or not. They might not have put the skill in for safety reasons, because they don't want anyone 2 get hurt while trying those skills.

  • I wonder what is more difficult to do, Gymnastics or Wushu.

  • Why isn't the quad twist on here? I remember it was in one of Nastia's earlier routines, but is it possible that she didn't perform the quad at Worlds?

  • @itstheapocalypse No one has ever performed this move at worlds or Olympics so it isn't in the code of points. I have only ever seen Nastia and Patricia Moreno attempt this move, but neither of them were round - they were both more like 3.5 twists with a 1/2 turning skid on the actual floor mat.

  • @MostepanovaFan Ah, thanks.

  • I wonder what the difficulty would be for a single layout arabian? Has anyone ever performed one to knowledge?

  • i thought the same thing, i.looked it up in the Code of Points and its a B

  • @MaebySurelyBarely

tatiana groshkova had, and some, for example liz tricase, had done the whip half. does that count?

  • @sqekcx

    yes it does,

speaking about arabian layout, courtney Mcuppets did after a layout arabian a double front!

  • Damn that video was very well done!

  • I can't believe I miss this until now! Thank you Mostepanovafan, this is beautiful. Yang Yun also did very beautiful double pike back in Olympics 2000 for her AA.

  • i thinks its annoying when i do triple fulls and a level 8 kid says that is only d and the same with double fronts and my coach says they are E's

  • a triple and a double front are E's in the women's code and D's in the mens

  • Elemarth let me explain, front tumbling is considered much harder because of the blind landings, its very hard because you cant spot your landings before you hit the ground, unlike back tumbling where you can see the ground before you hit it. Also a double layout is harder than a full twisting double pike becuase, a double layout when you do it you get less rotation and its all in the movement in your hips,so layed out is harder to manage to get around than a full twisting double back piked is.

  • Thanks so much for posting all of these!

  • Who cares to explain to me why front tumbling is always considered harder than back tumbling? And not just in a pass like these - it's the same on the beam. And how can a double back layout be harder than a double pike with a full twist?! I will never understand the CoP.

  • I could be wrong but sometimes its because its a 'blind landing' for the athlete... they can't see the floor or beam before their feet hit it... or at least not for as long as the other skill...

  • I never would have thought of that, but it makes sense! Thanks!

  • Pavlova has the best double traight ive EVER seen

  • imo Christina bontas and natalia laschenova did them better

  • why does everyone do double pike when its the same as double tuck?

  • The double tuck was only changes to a D this January. More people have started doing double tucks this year, but a number of people have actually been doing both in the same routine

  • @MostepanovaFan Are there more elements that are changed?

  • i reeeeaally love the way a "simple" double Satlo Backwards straight looks...

    03:17

  • and a last question, why we dont see the half in half out in code of points, its an E difficulty like full in?

  • i'm guessing because it is very similar so is equally harder.

Je devine que parce qu'ils sont très similaires et sont donc tout l'égalité difficile.

    attempted French =)

  • héhé ;) " je pense qu'ils sont similaires, donc sont de difficultés égales ;)

  • J'ai essayé =) =D

  • norajthx a full in is when the full twist is in the first sommersault. a half in half out is when the first half twist is in the first sommersault and the second half is in the second sommersault. =)

  • ohhh ok, thanks a lot:) its "logic" i dont know how i can say that in english:D (logique in french)

  • what is the difference between a full twisting double back and the half in half out like patterson does (sorry for the english im french!) and thanks mosterpanovafan, i love your montage, thats great;)

  • Is the full in double layout (performed by Cristina Bontas) the same difficulty as a double layout full out?

  • Yes, the code makes no distinction about where the twist is placed anymore

  • @MostepanovaFan thats sad lol

  • i can't believe a front full is as hard as a full turn with ur leg at back altitude lol

  • I just wanted to thank you for making all of these videos! I have learned so much from watching them!

Also I LOVE that the double tuck was upgraded! Everytime I see it it brings me right back to the wonderful gymnasts from the 80's.

  • Me too! I'd love to see some whips to a double tuck soon!

  • Stroescu never performed a front 2 1/2 twists. Cojocar have performed it in 2002/2001.

  • What is the difficulty off lillia's DOUBLE FRONT WITH HALF TWIST !!!????

  • it's an E skill.. (( you can see it at 1:26))

  • exact same as the double front without the twist.

  • i dont think that is fair

  • Great video! Could you tell me the name of the song you used in the vid?

  • Does a double-double count as both a twisting salto and tumbling salto? Or does the twisting salto need to have one somersault?

  • thanks these videos are really helpful cause sometimes the code of points can be really confusing so under the new one is 14 like the new 15 lol

  • the double layout stepout is the same than a double layout?

  • it's not really competed anymore so I guess it wasn't included.

  • how about a full-in double pike? whats the value?

  • Any ideea why the salto forword straight with 2.5 twists is called a Stroescu in COP? I wasn't able to find a single routine of Silvia doing it! I know it got named at 2001 worlds but the only person I saw doing it at that competition was Stroescu's team-mate, Sabina Cojocar in aa finals.

  • I have also wondered this, I think the FIG Technical committee just made a mistake (they did the same with the Omelianchik, which Oksana Omelianchik never actually performed)

  • Really? Are you sure? You mean the Omelianchik on beam? 'cause I think she has performed it (87 worlds aa for example), she just didn't go for the handstand...she did it to a hip support...if I am not mistaken! Anyway, about the Stroescu thing I can't believe they didn't correct it...

  • Omelianchik did perform a version of the move with 1/4 twist, but the code calls the 3/4 twisting version the Omelianchik and the 1/4 twisting version isn't named. I guess they can't be bothered to change it. In the February version of the 2009 code they spelt loads of names wrong as well...

  • so both the double front and the double front with a half twist are worth the same?! i though that the latter would be worth a little bit more...

  • The reason they are the same is because the half twist at the end makes it easier to spot the ground and the reason that the double front is so difficult is the blind landing

  • cheng fei amazing

  • this song sounds like a melody from 2girls1cup...

  • No, she didn't.

  • The 3.5 twist was amazing!

  • great video

  • Wait I thought a front 5/2 layout is called a Randi? I also heard that Bridget Sloan is training a triple front full .

  • It is also known as a Randi (named after the first person to do it a trampoline)

  • yea i heard about that too. if she does it completely rotated i guess it would be an F.

  • Has anyone ever done a triple front/back?

Thank you for all your guides they're very helpful! :)

  • Some men have successfully pulled off triple backs on floor... search Valeri Liukin in 1988. :)

  • im sure daiane dos santos can compete a triple if she trained it =)

  • Bridget Sloan is training a triple front currently.

MostepanovaFan, Patricia Moreno competed a quad twist at a ROM vs ESP vs --- meet in 2008. I do not know whether she competed it successfully or not. Thanks for your great guides!

  • Have read that Lashenova (Natalia) from the former USSR competed a triple back.....dont know if thats 100% accurate though....havent seen it on here!! ok

  • I think that she trained one, but i don't know if she competed it either

  • i thought that a double back tuck was a C. and what about a back layout 4/1? thanks for uploading those.

  • The double back was upgraded to a D in December's code update. The back layout 4/1 is not in the code as it has never been competed successfully at worlds or Olympics (I have never seen anyone compete it successfully at all)

  • Nastia Liukin is the shit!

  • exactly =))

  • @ButlerEMT7 why?

  • wait a sec! you labeled the double twist back performed by huang mandan but it's Yang Yun

  • wait never mind i saw it in the description ! :)

    sorry

  • it's back!! i have been waiting forever for you to re upload this vid it's amazing thankz! :)

  • where do you get the code number and difficulty???? i have to write a report on that so i need to know soon

  • hey if you're looking for a website that has that stuff, do this: search "gymnstands" on google, then click on the second one down that's tabbed in. scroll down and you'll find the floor skills, bar skills, vault skills, and beam skills. plus connection and EGR.

  • DO THERM ENS!!

  • Congrats on your work. And thanks!

  • 1:37

who is Karine Boucher and what country is she from? That is a very typical name from my country, Québec.

  • She is from France, and competed back around 1987-1989

  • thank you very much Mostepanovafan. I've learned a lot watching all your videos!! Great job! Besides, you always chose among the best ones!

    Another fan of Olga.

  • I love this guide!!!Congratulations!!!

  • thanks so much!

  • Great job!!!

  • Great job - as always!

  • how do you chose with athletes to use, and do haev your own personal copy of the COP?? Great montage!!!

  • Thank you! I downloaded a copy of the COP from the FIG website and I just try and remember who did the moves with good form to decide who to use (Or in the case of moves people virtually never perform I just hunt until I find one!)

  • what's the url of the website?

  • cool

  • Thank you so much for making this:)

  • The gymnast at 2:45 is Yang Yun, not Huang Mandan. Hower GREAT montage. 5 stars!

  • Amazing! I love these videos!!!

  • yes that is a new upgrade.

  • Yes, it was upgraded from a C in the December code update
