Not only for Simon's saving the baby's life that it was enough but also for the author's showing us how the undeliverd letter is flying to the recipient, how the girl is healing and the more important how the wineglass is filling up in return of the innkeeper definition of the divine supreme which complies. In this movie the divine supreme complies a gentile sight and the innkeeper is a gentile indeed.
