@Tj1056 NO.. awd only heats up rear tyres ,so front spins on launch...then horse power loss via front drive shafts...then you have torque steer isues like you can see, you dont get that with 2 wd...and you dont have big slicks,in other words a much harder system to go real fast with...time and big money
@Tj1056 a fwd powers only 2 wheels,so only the drive wheels nice and sticky...when you have 4 wheels geting power but only 2 are hot and sticky and the other 2 are cold , you gona have problems
you australians need to load these 7 and 8 sec skyline's up on a barge and bring them to the USA for our Imports vs Domestic's shootouts, you would represent hard with these beasts.....
Over here on the east coast we have an awesome imports vs domestics at MIR raceway, these cars would compete is WS (wild street) and would be surrounded by 7 and 8 sec stangs and low low 9 sec street class honda's, alot of cars shipped from Puerto Rico for this event also
V8 doing 7 sec run while running on gasoline. V8s are just about cubic inches. They still are great engines overall, but i think the RB26DETT is even more great. Its about technology.
You're knocking someone about getting an engine in 7s without needing large displacement, but you're claim to fame is getting one in 7s without forced induction. It's a double edged sword... ie. not too many n/a 2.0 7s out there... It's just about which direction you're into personally. Unless you're a Spiro Pappa's type character...

That would be a tube frame, this car is sub chasis,, overall shape of the car is intact,,,any body can run 7s with a tube frame which will accommodate those huge Rear slicks,,,
The viper was winning Lemans for the pas 5 years, before the vette took over. That little import saver, "muscle cars can't turn" has no meaning any more.
Cheap plastic parts? It's mostly carbon fiber as are most super cars. Also, with the final drive rato at 3.4444:1, it has enough power to push it to 272.102mph...
Doesn't matter who held it before...who's holding it now...?
well...then how do you like the fact that "cheap and old technology" just spanked your new and expensive technology...I do believe it took the crown from the beloved Bugatti...and onlu using two turbos...not 4 as the Bugatti uses.. That's american muscle...and that's how we roll
huh...and not to mention...the French Veyron's German 16 cylinder, 8.0L, 4 turbo engine...got spanked by an an American Aero TT with an America 8 cylinder, 6.35L, twin turbo engine...
Noone in the world squeezes as much power out of a cubic inch or a litre of volume as Americans do... Watch Top Fuel drag racing if ya don't believe that.
And you'll pay 1/3-1/2 the price for the Ultimate Aero TT than you will for the Veyron.
wow...the whole "americans have never heard of corners" thing is played out. You'll notice the Vettes and The Vipers have been winning championships. Also...give me the name of a car that comes from the UK with a UK powerplant, that can smoke any American car...I didn't think so...Seems you have to rely on the Germans
However...the day you brilliant brits learn how to make an airplane fly, or send a shuttle to the moon, then I might be impressed with your gene pool of engineers...
i agree that the jokes's been played out and that vettes are pretty good handling cars but a stock viper is a terrible handling car for what you pay and should expect. My friends unkle has one and agrees himself that it's a poor handling car. A fast car. But his cadillac CTS-V handles far better.
I agree..but you have to look at the true difference between the Caddy and the Viper...one being the power the suspension and steering systems are trying to hold, and two being the way the systems are set up...
I think that the Viper needs to be completely revamped though. It was top dog when it came out, but the slight improvements over the years have been surpassed by complete redos by all other manufacturers.
6.0L chevy produces 420bhp. A 6.0l V8. A BMW M3 produces 420BHp from a 4.0l V8. Yank cars are shit and most likely always will be.
Plus I'd prefer a veyron. Also, why do you think vettes and vipers are winning championships? Because they aren't vettes and vipers! It's just a shell. All the internals probably have almost 0 relation to the actual car.
anyone who doubts that needs to see a top fueler in action. Those things aren't measured on the dyno so much as they are on the Richter scale. There's no jap or nazi car in the world that outguns the Enola Gay in horsepower.
I couldn't have said it better myself. There is NOTHING as impressive as the feeling you literally get sitting next to the track while a top fueler is at full throttle.
Well then I guess yanks are just fucking lazy then, if they arent willing to try and squeeze it. They can't develop a small capacity engine engine for shit.
Though they're quite good at developing their gut.
Besides, you're Australian, not European. What have the Australians contributed to the automotive world...that's right...nothing. The only car company in Australia that's worth a shit is Holden, which is owned by the AMERICAN company known as General Motors.
You're just a little 19 year old prick still living with your parents...I'm pretty sure you don't own an M3 or an M5, or any BMW for that matter.
Yes, I do have a job, and so I can afford an E36 M3.
And you want a small capacity engine for fuel economy, well, the rest of the world does. US fuel prices are like a dollar a gallon or something stupid. We have to pay $1.40 p/l in aus, so fuel economy matters.
you guy's are lucky, in uk, fuel has gone up to £1.08, in u.s. thats like $2.14. u.k. ids the most expensive European country for fuel so we're basically fucked with that kunt gordon aughhhh.....Brown!
Yea, that's really really bad. Thats equivalent to $2.50 a litre here. I know lots of people who wouldn't be able to live if that happened (unable to take public transport, unable to pay for fuel)
u guys also have higher quality gas that gets better gas mileage and power, bcuz our country is bigger and we need to go farther, we need a lot of fuel for cheap.
hahahaha nice. my question is how much is the top fuel blocks weigh? theres a reason why jap or nazi motors are small. they r suppeosed to be light u idiots. thats why u see american cars understeering into concrete barriers at turn 1. and to the idiot pointing out viper and vette racers. saab devloped the c5r. the mighty oreca viper gts-r was set up in england. idiots. and they are fully built racecars. and both lost to the skyline gtr and supras and nsx-r when they entered jgtc gt500.
really where is the proof of that. and even if it does, how much does it cost to make a top fuel block. i can make a rb block design wit f1 class materials and it would be light. idiot talk f1 vs top fuel not street car vs top fuel.
I've worked with dragcars since you were an itch in your fathers crotch. An RB block design, inline six, is made in aluminium, which is used in F1. Seriously, stop talking.
u obviously r an idiot. all rbs are iron block aluminum head. what ur top fuels use billet titanium for ur blocks? u coudlnt answer my question what material is used in top fuel blocks?
You never asked dickschwab. The new line of RB26DETT engines are made in aluminium, if you want one with good quality that is. The cast iron block has it's flaws.
YOU NEVER ASKED WHAT IT WAS MADE OF. Cunt. Learn how to spell and stop butchering the english language you fucking twelve year old.
ahahaha. idiot. now we try to divert random shit cuz of ur ignorance. theres no such thing as a new rb block. it died with the r34. the new gtr has a vr38dett which is a v6. haha u dumb shit. what are they made of then? third time i am asking u. what are the top fuel blocks made of?
Oh of course, so the new shortblock Rb26DETT blocks available for sale, made for restoration purposes are all bullshit right?
I've worked on numerous, so stop trying.
You never asked the first time, or the second time dumbshit. Wow, I am not even wasting my time on you anymore. You are without a doubt the most ignorant piece of shit I have ever met. It's people like you that sit home alone and never go out pretending they know shit, and will end up taking their mom to prom.
This Euro "Modern" vs USA "Old" is played out. But still, comparing the Aero to the Veyron is kind of ridiculous, because the build philosophies are different. A Veyron could be driven hard all day long as long as you could pay the fuel bill and tires, the Aero must need constant engine rebuilds in the same situation:P
Constant engine rebuilds? It's based off of a chevy engine, that I happen to own one of, and that engine has almost 250,000 miles...the only thing I have changed are the oil and a waterpump. I didn't break it in properly, and I haven't gone easy on that engine from day one.
Now, the engine in the Aero is obviously more tuned than mine, but it's built with better components than mine as well.
Also, with the Veyron price difference...I'd have plenty of money for rebuilds if needed
You don't need to rebuild it constantly... These are forged internals. I'd say if you do a duration run, you will need a rebuild, but constant 1/4 runs, no. Even racing on the streets isn't even equivilant to duration racing... so.. yea.
man...you really know what's going on... When the American car companies design a "muscle car"...they don't tune suspensions or anything.... they just put a 500-600hp engine in a brick and send it to the dealer... That was a retarded question
lol i know now, like an idiot i posted that comment w/o research. SSC = Shelby Super Cars. well mabad! who the hell gave me a thumbs down? im sure there's shit you dont know yet! damn. but ya thanx for the heads up Warmoth.
Performance car quoted that both the Heat Treatments and Croyden cars were around the 1400hp mark, saying that you can't exactly strap a car like this to a dyno. And for the record this car has been STROKED not bored out. Then again a team at this level isn't going to print down their specs to a tee for everyone
reece is makeing around the 1600hp mark but runs a subframe chassie no tube shit and it aint a 2.6dett its bored to around the 3.0 mark makeing it a rb30det the car would run alot faster as rear wheel drive as he loses alot of power through the gear box being four wheel drive but that would just defeat the point now wouldent it :D
Its not an bored out to 3liters.They have 2 race engines fro the GTR one id 2.6 ltrs the other is bored out to a 2.8 ltr. They run a Garrett GT55 on Methanol.
Assuming this car would do better in rear which I doubt, because this thing had major trouble putting down that power on those slicks..In a 7.5 run this thing actually had wheel spin at over 190 mph!!! in 4wd..so why but it in rear when it cant put that hp successfully in 4wd.
True but then youll need a tube frame chasis to accommodate those slicks and that would be defeating its propose, and would not be anything special,if not all most tube frame cars runs 7s,but how many subframe runs 7s.
Aucklander Reece McGregor has set a world quarter-mile (400m) sprint record for all-wheel-drive cars. McGregor launched his r32 Nissan Skyline off the line at Queensland's Willowbank Raceway and was clocked at 7.57 seconds and 190mph (307km/h). Earlier he had recorded 7.59 seconds over the distance. McGregor's best time in New Zealand is 7.81 seconds and 177mph (287km/h). The 1992 Skyline is powered by a turbocharged 2.6-litre straight-six engine producing around 1400 horsepower (1040kw).
John Shepherd has a First Gen Talon that has tripped the lights in 7.70 seconds @ 191 mph,(on youtube) and managed another slightly slower run with a 195 mph trap speed. Trying to say that only a GT-R could be the fastest AWD in the 1/4 is just ignorant, if John manages to hook things up just right on a run his car clearly has the power to beat McGregor's record.
But it sounds to me that you just pull random figures out of the air. How much power does the car actually make? I DO understand drag racing, but I have never heard of any GTR making the amount of power you quoted.
yea i agree. go read the ignition magazine article. Even one of the builders ( cant think of his namee) agrees that it doesnt make anywhere near even 1700hp.
he jumped the gun.

Any rwd old 8 that can compete with this has good money spent on it and isnt even in the same class as they will have massive tubs, slicks ect.

ztunelover 4 years ago

A Veyron could be driven hard all day long as long as you could pay the fuel bill and tires, the Aero must need constant engine rebuilds in the same situation:P
pipide4 4 years ago
Constant engine rebuilds? It's based off of a chevy engine, that I happen to own one of, and that engine has almost 250,000 miles...the only thing I have changed are the oil and a waterpump. I didn't break it in properly, and I haven't gone easy on that engine from day one.
Now, the engine in the Aero is obviously more tuned than mine, but it's built with better components than mine as well.
Also, with the Veyron price difference...I'd have plenty of money for rebuilds if needed
WarmothGuitarist 4 years ago
You don't need to rebuild it constantly... These are forged internals. I'd say if you do a duration run, you will need a rebuild, but constant 1/4 runs, no. Even racing on the streets isn't even equivilant to duration racing... so.. yea.
HmongLus 4 years ago
man...you really know what's going on... When the American car companies design a "muscle car"...they don't tune suspensions or anything.... they just put a 500-600hp engine in a brick and send it to the dealer... That was a retarded question
WarmothGuitarist 4 years ago 2
HAHAHAHAHAHA SO TRUE!!!!
I thought the tt was german?
trueropyro 4 years ago
nope...the SSC Aero TT is built by Shelby Super Cars...based in Washington USA
WarmothGuitarist 4 years ago

Performance car quoted that both the Heat Treatments and Croyden cars were around the 1400hp mark, saying that you can't exactly strap a car like this to a dyno. And for the record this car has been STROKED not bored out. Then again a team at this level isn't going to print down their specs to a tee for everyone
Ochenklasna 4 years ago
reece is makeing around the 1600hp mark but runs a subframe chassie no tube shit and it aint a 2.6dett its bored to around the 3.0 mark makeing it a rb30det the car would run alot faster as rear wheel drive as he loses alot of power through the gear box being four wheel drive but that would just defeat the point now wouldent it :D
XescortX 4 years ago
Its not an bored out to 3liters.They have 2 race engines fro the GTR one id 2.6 ltrs the other is bored out to a 2.8 ltr. They run a Garrett GT55 on Methanol.
Check it out forums,performancecar,co,nz
For a check on the rebuild for this season.
mandhdrijfhout 4 years ago
Assuming this car would do better in rear which I doubt, because this thing had major trouble putting down that power on those slicks..In a 7.5 run this thing actually had wheel spin at over 190 mph!!! in 4wd..so why but it in rear when it cant put that hp successfully in 4wd.
supercars01 4 years ago
rears faster bro ....put sum 15 inch wide tyres(slicks)and there will be no wheel spin.....yank are geting 8000hp down the track with no wheel spin!
4huna 4 years ago
True but then youll need a tube frame chasis to accommodate those slicks and that would be defeating its propose, and would not be anything special,if not all most tube frame cars runs 7s,but how many subframe runs 7s.
supercars01 4 years ago
a narrowed rear subframe is how your typical american "door slammers" are built... It's just alot of work
WarmothGuitarist 4 years ago
now you're talking my language...aside from the "Yank" thing...but no disrespect I'm sure...

The 1992 Skyline is powered by a turbocharged 2.6-litre straight-six engine producing around 1400 horsepower (1040kw).
alasda 4 years ago
hmm... not sure how much power it has but but i think it is not over 1000hp mabe like 600-800hp .....it dose sound bad ass tho when it takes off
andrewontiveros 4 years ago
u would not get a 600 2 8oo hp skyline sounding and launching like that its 1400 almost double wot u think

Reece McGregor...he only gets faster. Currently the worlds fastest 4WD, meaning Worlds fastest GT-R

Haelphadreous 4 years ago
I should mention I mean McGregor's 7.59 second run, not the run in this video.
Haelphadreous 4 years ago
Who said only a GTR could win?? He simply stated the facts. Sounds like it may be you who is ignorant.
chrisdef15 4 years ago
and even when it ran its 7.57 record run it wasnt running at full power, it was running at roughly 1700hp and it capable of just a nudge over 2000hp
reckless54 4 years ago
Where did you pull those figures from? They seem a tad bit ridiculous to me...
babyduck1 4 years ago
obliviously you don't understand drag racing....think about how much power loss there is in the drive train?
reckless54 4 years ago
But it sounds to me that you just pull random figures out of the air. How much power does the car actually make? I DO understand drag racing, but I have never heard of any GTR making the amount of power you quoted.
babyduck1 4 years ago
yea i agree. go read the ignition magazine article. Even one of the builders ( cant think of his namee) agrees that it doesnt make anywhere near even 1700hp.
