Apparently Robin Gibb was none too impressed with this parody but when you actually hear the melody of the tune in this song (ignoring the lyrics), it's something you could associate with them. I thought it was a brilliant send up and btw, I'm also a huge Bee Gees fan..
I remember hearing this on an AM radio once when at work and it took until "...and AHHHH, whatever that means" to realise that it wasn't actually the Gibb brothers! Damn good take off.
I don't know how many times I've told people about this song! There was a funny live performance on a comedy special back in the day. Thanks for posting this!
great song, but who is the first voice supposed to sound like? it dosen't sound like Barry. If it wasn't for the daft lyrics this would be an amazing song...
Good God I loved this song & I owned the album (on cassette actually) the B side of which was blank so you could record songs that you liked on it. I personally recorded songs from the radio (as one did in those days). Simply brilliant, wish I still had that cassette...
these guys were fantastic, little did we realise how much we needed these guys to prick the egos of the so-called super-groups, no disrespect intended, but it did get ridiculous... thankfully we learned to laugh at ourselves before we disappeared right up our own 12 inch LPs ... Come home HBGBs your needed more than ever
Best Bee Gees song ever. This all began on the wonderful radio 4 comedy show "Radioactive" and they produced an LP of HeeBeeGeeBees songs that should have rocketed to #1 but didn't....sad but true.
This is really great, and it made me laugh, but it sure made me recall those torturous two or so years in the 70's where you couldn't go anywhere without hearing those screeching male banshees coming out of some speaker. It made me want to scream. ....Although I have to say that the Bee Gees did involve musical talent, unlike any typical dime-a-dozen rapper.
Please advise where to find the original video clip of this I saw once from Channel 9 late comedy show after 2010 loggie award called Comedy King. 3 man with white scarf stick up sideway really really funny hilarious. please help !
I had the immeasurable privilege of supporting the 'Hes' on their Australian tour in 198?. I was playing sax in a band called The Zarsoff Brothers.
I still treasure the night I wore my RSO (Robert Stigwood Organization) T-shirt to the show at Selina's Googee Bay Hotel and Dobbin (Philp Pope) was the only person who appreciated it. Great great days!
Great stuff. I hope the surviving Gibbs appreciated this 'tribute' - you can't laugh at anything if you can't laugh at yourself!

@Malocosa I am TOTALLY with you. Although I gotta say that today's stuff is so bad I wonder if parodying is even possible, you know?!?!

The Bee Gees' official biography has a chapter about this... the Gibbs' own producer heard this song on the radio and thought it was the real thing.
